A very happy new year to readers of Heaven. Man. Earth.!!

At this time of the year, I have been busy conducting corporate talks for 2012 Feng Shui Forecast and also at the same time working with the media on interviews which cover topics like "Is it auspicious to have Dragon babies?" and 12 Animal Signs forecast for 2012.

Looking back 2011

This is one of the pictures taken during a talk to 100 over business owners in February 2011. The event was known as BNI Big Breakfast at YMCA auditorium.

Besides the pointers reflected on the powerpoint slides, I also mentioned that gold price will soar and property market will perform very well in 2011.

All these have unfolded. And my analysis was based on the Li Chun Bazi of the year.

Euro debt crisis is not unpredictable but it has surfaced this year and not next year. Why? Where in the 2011-bazi is the trigger? And why did we only see it coming in 2nd half of 2011?

Tsunamis, earthquake and floods happen almost everywhere and every now and then. But why 2011 is exceptionally intense? Can we also attribute this to the Gua image of wind over water?

Now, how do we relate trust issues to global arena and right to our own society? The lack of trust is the underlying reason for the aggravation of the euro crisis said some reports. The ineffiency of the management of government linked companies have undermined their role as a responsible corporate citizen. How now to regain the trust of the public?

At a family level, we see a rising trend of cheating spouses with more wives cheating on their husband according to a report by Straits Time.

What has the world become? Is 2012 going to be worse? Is the dragon going to rise from the sea of turbulence or drown by it?

A Story on Date Selection

Came across this anecdote from a Chinese book on date selection and thought it would be interesting to share it.
During the Qing dynasty, Emperor Qian Long decided to impersonate as a commoner to visit one of the provinces so that he could understand his people better.
He arrived at this village one day and saw that a wedding ceremony was taking place. Being a date selection expert himself, Emperor Qian Long did a quick calculation and discovered that today was an inauspicious date especially for wedding event. So, he stopped one of the villagers and asked who had selected this date for the couple. Not knowing that he was actually speaking to the emperor, the villager then replied that it was calculated by his neighbor who was a scholar in this village.
Emperor Qian Long then blurted out that, "Today is a very bad day according to the date selection classics. Why on earth did your neighbor choose this day for such an important event?"
"Oh, what I understand from my neighbor is that today is indeed an inauspicious day but he mentioned that because a noble person will pass by our village today, all bad energies will retreat and be suppressed. In fact, because of the arrival of this VVIP, the moment will turn auspicious and great blessings will be felt" said the villager.
Qian Long was surprised to find out that there were actually very skillful people among the commoners. So highly skilled that even they could predict the timing of his arrival.
This story was taken from a small paragraph in the book which emphasizes the presence of noble people or Gui Ren in important events. Hence, it is not uncommon to see ministers, celebrities and politicians being invited for ground breaking or business opening ceremonies. This enhances the "Man" component or Ren He of the cosmic trinity.

Beauty and the Sun (Yuan Qi Men)

At 12 pm sharp, dark cloud makes way for the sun.

The sun shines on the shop.

Lion dance and ribbon cutting.

"Rain, rain go away. Come again and another day. Because today is my client's big day."

My client plans to start a beauty school. A month ago, she rang me up and wanted me to pick a saturday for the Opening ceremony so that she could invite her friends, relatives and business associates to witness this great milestone of her career.

November has been a wet month. But I need the sun to be out for the special moment as this is a beauty business. So, I picked the moment for her since 2 weeks ago, based on Xuan Kong Da Gua Date and San Yuan Qi Men Dun Jia System. Besides the good formation of Xuan Kong hexagram date structure, I also ensure that a good door arrives at the sitting hexagram and in this instance, the Scene door or Jing Men (景门到山).

In the study of Qi Men Dun Jia, Jing Men represents, amongst other things, elegance and reputation. It is akin to the attributes of Li gua. It is also an auspicious door to use besides Grow, Rest and Open doors. Therefore, it is the most apt door for a beauty business.

I told her to cut the ribbon at 12pm sharp. Lion dance to follow after that.

Close to 12 pm, the sky was still gloomy and worse still, the drizzling has not stopped. I told the organiser to start to standby the ribbon cutting, lion dance troop and guests as the timing was near.

Strangely, at 12 pm sharp, the drizzle suddenly stopped and the dark cloud made way for the sunshine and cast the ray onto the shop. I took a few pictures to help you visualise better.

The ribbon was snipped. Lion dance began and lasted for 15 minutes. The crowd gathered outside the shop celebrating and gracing the event.

At 1215 pm, the guests proceeded for their lunch inside the shop.

A couple of minutes later, the weather resumed. A downpour followed.

I overheard some guests were saying they found the whole thing so inexplicable. But I know why.

Leakage of Wealth through the Window

Many clients told me that their previous feng shui master had advised them to install a partition or screen after they step into their house or HDB unit.

This is to ensure that the qi does not come in from the main door, whiz through the living room and immediately dash out of the window. In another word, if you are able to see your window or balcony when you are at your main door, you will suffer from wealth leakage.

Worse still, if your bedroom also has such situation, add another partition immediately after your bedroom door to shield it from the room window. End up, you may need to go though a labyrinth before you hit your bed.

The unfortunate thing is that almost all of Singapore's HDB or even condo, especially those built in the early days, are designed as such. But the phenomenol thing is that, most Singaporean's affluence level have seen an increase over the years.

Does qi really behave in this manner? When do we need to really insert the partition? Wouldn't it be better to have an internal Ming Tang or circulation space? Aren't you blocking the good qi from entering?

The findings I gather is that, instead of preventing the wealth from leaking, all of my clients that have subscribed to the recommended solution either suffer from some financial issues or could not break through the status quo.

But the renovation contractors certainly have more jobs.

Zi Chou Separation?

It has been quite a while since I talk about bazi. So, I decided to write something that I thought can provide a fresh perspective for those who are into bazi.

Do you find it strange that if I say Zi and Chou (rat and ox earthly branches) are not combination but separation?

Am I talking nonsense?

I thought my bazi teacher and almost all bazi books mention that zi and chou are one of the 6 combinations? You may instinctively ask.

Zi Chou can actually be perceived as a sign of separation after coming together. 先合后分的现象。

Why?

For a very simple reason, it is a countering relationship of earth and water in the hidden stem.

Therefore, zi chou in spouse palace is not something blissful and sentimental that one always think so.

There are more of such things in bazi. I call it false image.

I was interviewed by the media, RazorTV on the significance of 11.11.11.

Even though this day is defined as a "Danger" day by the 12 Deities Day system (十二建除日), it is still considered as an auspicious day for wedding activities.

In the chinese wedding date selection classic, 11 November 2011 which is Geng-wu day pillar, is singled out as a Yin Yang balance day (阴阳不将日) in the month of Hai (November). This is a day that neither the yin nor the yang energy is too dominant for the male and the female. In addition, the day is blessed with good energies like Annual Virtuous and Heaven Virtuous.

The best hours to carry out activities such as signing of the marriage certificate or tea ceremony would be between 11 am to 3 pm where you will have good stars like:

Heaven Official Nobleman
Fortune Star Nobleman
Heaven Nobleman
Harmonious Star

With the presence of such positive energies, it brings prosperity and shower the couple and their parents with many blessings. When carrying out wedding date calculation for the couple, it will be interesting to note that the wedding date selection system focuses alot on the bride's date of birth. It ensures that the date selected is not detrimental to her in-laws, her offspring star and husband star. What the system aims for is to let the bride be well-treated and be able to discharge her duties as a daughter-in-law, a wife and mother to the children.

11.11.11, according to Xuan Kong Da Gua date calculation, gives rise to a combination of ten date structure especially if you arrange for feng shui activities like positioning of bed, tilting door, renovation and etc to commence between 11 am and 1 pm. Some masters have also used this system to pick an auspicious moment for wedding activity by ensuring the date is compatible with the couple's year pillar hexagram. For example, couple born in the years of 1978 and 1980 will receive good support from this date structure. Combination of Ten denotes yin yang balance.

However, one thing to note is that 11.11.11 is not suitable for people born in the year of rat as there is a conflicting energy between rat and horse.

Xuan Kong Feng Shui - The Judgement Day

There are 3 words to sum up the 4-day Xuan Kong Feng Shui course: Interactive, Fun and Challenging.

There were great bondings especially towards the last day among the participants despite the fact that some do not know each other in the beginning. Participants were eager to exchange their personal experience in feng shui and question some of the fundamentals. To me, this is the spirit of learning. Sometimes, there is no right or wrong in your answers, it is just a matter of perspectives. Afterall, feng shui is also an art that calls for judgement. It is never meant to be an exact science.

I looked forward to everyday of the course because everyday was filled with laughters from the class. I believe that our mind absorbs the most when we are relax and we enjoy ourselves during the learning process. To me, there are no stupid questions. I encourage participants to ask, to be curious and to be bold in their thinking process.

The last day was wonderful. This was the moment that everyone geared up to assess the feng shui of real properties and then corroborate with the actual events that have taken place. We set out our journey in a convoy of 3 cars, heading to 3 different types of properties one after another to get our hands dirty. The lunch at the teow chew restaurant was sumptuous. The bubble tea that were prepared by the gorgeous lady boss at her bubble tea factory at 5 pm arrived timely to quench the thirst of inquisitive students. I seldom drink bubble tea but after trying it, I am going back for more!

A big thank to all the participants for being so spontaneous and adventurous. Congratulations to everyone of you who will now know how to fly the stars to a greater height.

Tau Sa Piah whets the Green Dragon's appetite

An entry search for "Singapore famous tau sa piah (red bean pastry)" in google gives me many results showing the name "Long Fa" at 639 Balestier Road.

According to what I know, this shop, which also operates like a cafeteria, has been established at the same Balestier spot since 1940s.

I heard many rich and famous, including ministers, do patronise this supposedly Singapore first original Tau Sa Piah outlet. Besides the decades-old branding, the deliciousness of the pastry, i wonder if the feng shui does have a role in the fame of this shop.

I frequently drive pass this corner shop but have yet to set foot on it. The last and only time I tried the tau sa piah was a treat by my client at his office. It tasted quite good but it could have been a better experience if I did not have to eat and discuss a case at the same time. Half of the time I was gobbling down the delicacy.

One Jia-zi cycle is what this shop has gone through. Nevertheless, it is still going strong despite the fact that other tau sa piah shops also sprung up in the vicinity. Just along the same stretch of shophouses, there are already 2 more competitors.

Landform plays an extremely important role in feng shui, superceding formula-ed feng shui. Take a look at the picture and you will see the shop conforming to basic rules of yin and yang. Green dragon side is active while the tiger side is tamed and remained yin. The fast moving traffic also slows down towards the turning. Couple with the gradual higher ground on the left of the shophouse, Long Fa becomes the first shop in the row to enjoy the qi returning back to them.

In order to maintain its competitiveness, I think they must have secretly fed the tau sa piah to the tiger and the dragon too.

The Wondrous Qi Men Dun Jia helped my client

The deal is extremely important for him.

Past few months have been lousy and life was miserable with so many highly anticipated deals suddenly called off at the 11th hour. I can imagine the great disappointments.

As a business owner with a family to feed and bills to pay, anxiety has built up to an intolerable stage.

I received a call from him telling me about the deal that was going to take place the next day. He had invited many angel investors to his presentation. He hoped to have their fundings and asked me how could I help him.

The timing has been fixed. It wasn't really a suitable timing for him. But I told him to take certain steps in accordance to my Qi Men Dun Jia calculation.

Sexual Agenda in Flying Stars

Perhaps it was not politically correct to discuss about the bees and birds openly during the time when classics like Fei Xing Fu （飞星赋）, Xuan Kong Mi Zhi （玄空秘旨） and Xuan Ji Fu （玄机赋）were penned by the feng shui scholars many hundreds years ago. So, it might had been the researchers and writers' deliberate intent to subtly weave in taboo topics like adultery, homosexuality and incest into the classics to capture and present to historians later on such hush-hush affairs.

I have always enjoyed poring through those classics especially intrigued by the interpretation on the poetic verses, the explanations on the interactions between the trigrams, the yins and the yangs and stripping down to 5 elements interplay. These are indeed good foreplay for people like me who want to penetrate very deeply (excuse me for the pun) into the study of 81 combinations of flying stars. It is just so titillating.

Because this involves some adult contents, do switch over to my other postings if you are below 18 years old and not ready for such kinky stuff. Because this involves the birds and the bees, some older and more conservative masters may not feel comfortable to talk about it in the class.

Because I am not so old yet and I am quite affected by the 4,1 flying stars combo (and thank god not 3,1), I will be exposing the sexual agenda in my October 2011 Xuan Kong Feng Shui class. Pardon me for the advertisement here. Before the class, I have come up with some teasers , some thoughts-provoking questions related to flying stars for your deliberation. This combo is quite prevalent in Period 8 house. Very risky for the ladies if your hubby already has roving eyes. When star 5 comes, he is likely to contract veneral disease.

The Journey of a San Yuan Di Li Practitioner

So, have you ever thought of what is the highest form of feng shui in this world?

I have been thinking in my entire life of pursuit for the ultimate feng shui. Where is the end?

To me, there is never an end. To learn is to live. That's my motto.

Most people started off with Flying Stars and a few become famous master in the market just by flying the stars. They carry big luo pan but for them, knowing 24 moutains ring is good enough to diagnose the issues.

Some progress to the next level, with the determination to nail your house feng shui down to less than 1 degree. That's Xuan Kong Da Gua. This is an independent system by itself and it does not need to connect with flying stars for its theories are founded mostly on early heaven ba gua arrangement. Flying stars is later heaven.

Not many, however, tread in between this 2 systems as they believe that Liu Fa is a cultish thing created by Grand Master Tan Yang Wu. Nope, he did not create this. He learnt it from Taoist Li in 1929. He then announced publicly that this is the real Xuan Kong System that in 1930.

Most masters would say that Xuan Kong Da Gua system is the ultimate feng shui. Yes because it is so damn precise and powerful. No, because you can actually go further with Ming Shi Pan Xian and Lian Shan Gui Cang Method.

So, what is the big deal if you know all these and do not couple it with a date selection system? Your feng shui will only be so-so or even backfire. Please do not just rely on Tong Shu or 12 Deities Day or Shen Sha. If you are a XKDG practitioner, then go for its own date selection system. To achieve perfection, couple it with 64 Hexagrams Qi Men Dun Jia System. Finally, to play god, couple it with Qi Zheng Si Yu and you can become the Master of Universe.

Well, I think that will be quite close to the end of the tunnel and the apex of the pyramid.

Did he know Qi Men Dun Jia?

.This man created a hoo-ha few years ago when he successfully escaped from the detention centre in Singapore and later fled to our neighbouring country. I happened to read the details of the findings by the Committee of Inquiry found online and i was quite intrigued by the fact that how this limping man was able to escape from this heavily guarded and secured premises. I was wondering if he knew Qi Men Dun Jia.

Let me first copy and paste a couple of paragraphs from the report on Mas Selemat's Esccape.

"The COI finds that on Wednesday, 27 Feb 2008, Mas Selamat escaped from
WRDC between 3:54pm and 4:05pm. He was scheduled for his weekly family
visit from 4:00pm to 4:30pm. The family visit was to take place in an assigned
Family Visit Room, in a Family Visitation Block, at WRDC. As part of the
family visit routine, Mas Selamat was escorted by two Gurkha Contingent
(“GC”) guards and a WRDC Special Duty Operative (“SDO”) to a changing
room for him to change out of the WRDC-issued attire into his own civilian
clothes. Mas Selamat was then escorted to a toilet located next to the Family
Visit Room to shave and comb his hair as part of the family visit routine. After
entering the urinal cubicle inside the toilet, Mas Selamat closed the urinal
cubicle door. He flipped a pair of greenish-grey pants that he was wearing over
the concrete ledge above the urinal cubicle door, and turned on the water tap
inside this cubicle."

"Having climbed down the water pipe, Mas Selamat was on the ground at the
rear of the Family Visitation Block. There is no conclusive evidence of the
exact route Mas Selamat took to escape. However, the COI’s view is that Mas
Selamat was likely to have used a route 20 metres to the right of the ventilation
window [as one faces the perimeter fences from the ventilation window].

Based on the report, I gathered information on the timing and direction of his escape. With this, I am able to plot the Qi Men hour chart (see below) for that moment to see if we can fish out some clues. The Qi Men hour chart for that hour was Yang 9th Ju.

Based on what was mentioned in the report that Mas Selemat was likely to use the direction towards the right of the window, we can say that he was running towards northeast direction. In this case, the northeast sector, Gen Palace, contains Du door (杜门). Among the 8 Wondrous Doors, this door is not really an auspicious door. However, the exceptions are when it is used for hunting and escaping.

In addition, there is a formation known as 地户逢星 derived from the combination between the heaven and earth stems. In the classic, it is written that one can leverage on its energy to go "invisible" or basically undetected. It is also applicable for people who want to disengage themselves with the world and become a hermit.

Qi Men Dun Jia is famously known and used by military strategists and astrologers like Zhu Ge Liang and Liu Bo Wen to help their state to gain an upper hand during war. Today, one can use it for interviews, negotiation, debt collection, games, examinations, marriage proposal and etc.

To conclude, one can always say that this case study is pure coincidence. Well, my intention is merely to bring up such uncanny coincidence to people who are learning and reading up on Qi Men Dun Jia.

I saw the SIGNS

These were the signs that I was supposed to see in accordance to what were written in the Qi Men Dun Jia classics before I proceed to do the bed positioning for my client last night. The objective is to help him overcome a challenging moment in his life now.

The hour was Hai. I stood there looking out for the phenomenon.

The Xuan Kong Da Gua structure was Combo of Ten and most importantly, it matches the person and the gold division. This is the first criteria to be met before I can proceed to work on the Early Heaven San Yuan Qi Men Dun Jia hour chart based on 64 hexagrams arrangement.

The air was still and sky was red. My client and I were chatting and I have also asked him to watch out for events that were going to happen soon. I have written them down in advance. He told me it was quite unlikely that people would walk past this section of the house especially at that hour.

Suddenly, a couple walked past. After 5 minutes, 2 ladies appeared near my client's house, one walking her dog and another in green with a mobile phone on her hand - lit up.

We know the moment has arrived for me to position the bed to a specific gold division with the Qi （奇）and the Men （门）.

After the job, we adjourned for supper - my favourite chilli crabs.

Xie Zi Fa is no longer a secret

According to my very reliable source in Taiwan, Xie Zi Fa is a term coined by GM Zeng Zi Nan after he met Professor Li Le Qiu supposedly in the 50's or 60's. Prof Li, who was teaching in a university, was the one guarding this "powerful secret system" at Taiwan then. Both of them became friends and in order to get hold of the sacred system, GM Zeng offered to exhange his San Yuan Di Li Feng Shui method for it.

In the 60's, topics on fengshui remained mysterious and at that point in time, not many people would know what is 8 Mansions, Flying Stars, Da Gua, Qi Men and etc. GM Zeng, who was also known to be a shrewd business person, actively promoted and publicised on some of the systems that he was using. And one of them was Xie Zi Fa. Nevertheless, if you have the opportunities to read some of his books, which I have read many of his, he had never described a single thing on what is Xie Zi Fa all about.

Alot of people then start to associate with Chou Yao Huan Xiang or claimed that it is an extension of Xuan Kong Da Gua. I think it is not incorrect to think in that manner because I see that his application of Xie Zi Fa did incorporate and use in tandem with Da Gua. However, Xie Zi Fa is a system by itself. It talks about a situation when mountain can become water, water can become mountain. Yin can be yang and yang can be yin. In the picture that I have inserted here, the words Xie Zi is to be read as "Ci Er Zi". Zi means child. That has also led me into thinking that it might have certain association with "Reverse and Forward Child" formation. Again, this is my assumption on his application. And I need to stress again that Xie Zi Fa theory is, from what I have discoverd in Taiwan, something that can be independently applied.

Also to my surprise, it is something that I realised I have already known but it is named differently. You too could have already known. It was a sacred art in the 60's but in 21st century, it has become a passe.

I have decided not to reveal what it is all about as it will be a shattered dream to some of us. It is not easy to accept reality.

You DO NOT need to know Yi Jing. You are only required to have basic concepts of flying stars and bazi (4 Pillars of Destiny).

San Yuan Qi Men Date Selection - a Waiting Game

If you want the best result, you got to wait - sometimes as long as a few months.

After a good Xuan Kong Da Gua date is selected in relation to the house sitting hexagram and the occupant's hexagram, san yuan qi men date practitioner like us usually go on to calculate that for the particular hour, to make sure the Qi (mystical heavenly stem) and Men (8 doors) are present at the specific hexagram position so that we get the result we want.

This shopping mall is in Taiwan Kao Hsiung and it is one of the biggest malls in town. It is designed to look like a blue whale. When I was there shopping, I saw that the mall was quite packed with shoppers and to me, it looks quite successful as compared to the other many malls that I have gone to.

We can attribute this to the good fengshui job but without a proper date selected to inaugurate the operation of the mall, things may not turn out that well.

In fengshui, especially for burial, it is imperative that the practitioner chooses a rainy day if the burial site resembles sea animal shapes like prawn or fish. On the other hand, if the auspicious site selected has the formation of a bird or crane, then it is very crucial that before the burial job is carried out, gusts of wind surround the place.

A meticulously calculated San Yuan Qi Men timing was used during the opening ceremony. The master had beforehand, instruct the mall manager to build tentages as heavy downpour would occur during the time. The manager felt a bit puzzled as for the past few days, there was no rain and the weather was sunny throughout. Any how, the manager still proceeded to carry out the master's instruction.

At that day before the opening ceremony, the sky was still blue and sunny. Strangely, just moments before the specific hour, the sky suddenly turned gloomy and when the ribbon was about to cut, it rained.

The whale is alive.

So, how do we know which day and hour it is going to be a rainy day?

This involves some technical knowledge which I will share in my future postings on San Yuan Qi Men Dun Jia Date Selection.

A Niche Market

Fully air-conditioned. Lavishly decorated and carpeted. Smart access system. These are the features that I would, hitherto, never associate it with a columbarium. I did not know death can be so comfortable and extravagant.

I was introduced to the various suites during the tour led by the sales director who has invited me to this place known as the Nirvana, located at Singapore's old Chua Chu Kang Road. I thought I was in a 5-star hotel.

Each suite requires a card to access. Scan your ID, punch in a few numbers, you will see a little red light appearing on one of the niches. You walk over to it, gently press on the glass panel, it opens up to a space where urn(s) can be snuggled into it.

You can either purchase the niche for your own consumption or some people actually invested in them and later on sell it to their friends or relatives - much like a property transaction.

While it may take many years holding on to the niche space until the day arrives, some decided to leverage on it to change their own luck through the method known as life burial. The person (still alive) would clip his/her nails, cut the hair, draw some blood and together with other intimate items, placed them into the urn. With a very auspicious timing, the urn is then positioned in one of the niches that has the good fengshui which matches with the bazi. How do you know which niche space has been used for life burial? You can either ask the sales person or just look for those with the word "寿" or longevity pasted on it.

One of the key criteria for a niche space to enjoy good fengshui is to have a good Ming Tang or circulating space in front of it. Other factors that I will consider is the direction and how the niche is going to tap into the incoming or exiting water. In this enclosed hi-tech building, there is obviously no gutter surrounding it. What you look out for is the entrance to the suite. You can use San He Water Method or Xuan Kong Da Gua Feng Shui to select. Different means to the same end.

By the way, the more expensive niche space is usually at the eye level, especially if it directly faces the buddha.

How to Feng Shui your BTO flat

BTO or Build-to-Order is an unique public housing scheme launched by the Housing Development Board (HDB) of Singapore. Couples who are excited to own their first HDB house will apply for the scheme and be given a queue number to see the officer to select the unit they want. Once they are decided, they will place the deposit and wait for 2 to 3 years for their new HDB flat to be ready.

When the demand or application for certain launches meets a certain minimum number, the HDB will then ask the builder to commence construction. Up to this stage, the selection of dream home is based merely on brochures, estate plan and unit floor plan with facing direction on the corner of the page. This selection process is very much like buying a condominium from a new development.

For BTO, a favourably used acronym, can create unintended consequences between couple. Stress over which unit to choose, panic-attack suffered by the couple when their preferred units got taken up, quarrels over which facing to select are just some of the common sights.

Of late, I have been receiving many requests from friends and clients to help them choose a BTO flat with the best fengshui followed by 2nd best and 3rd best and etc. Is there a way to fengshui a virtual BTO flat since the construction work has yet to start? And if there is, how do I do it?

You see, we fengshui practitioners must rely on the luo pan or chinese compass to help us take the exact degree from the physical unit so that we can plot out the energy distribution of the house to see if the fengshui is good. Unfortunately, for houses that are not physically there yet, we can only rely on the floor plan's compass to help us extrapolate.

The good news is that, based on my past experiences, the facing direction indicated in the plan does not vary alot from the unit when it is built. I must compliment the authority for adhering closely to the plan.

In this regard, when my clients come to see me to shortlist a few units for them, I would check the plans and superimpose my 24-mountains stencil to get the sitting and facing directions. With that I would use flying stars and Purple-White system (a great tool for this purpose!) to chart out the fengshui of the house. The following are my guiding principles to determine which units have better fengshui:

1. On a macro level, check if there is any pond or pool (usually for condo). If there is, check whether does it comply to Ling Shen position. If it complies, it is very good for money making opportunities.

2. Shape of the unit. A regular shape with no missing corners are of course preferred. Triangular rooms and huge chunk of missing sector is a no-no. Toilet or bombsehlter in the middle of the house is a taboo. However, you realise that nowadays the HDB architects are quite radical in their design and it is quite difficult to get a squarish house. So, just make sure that the missing sector does not correspond to your existing health issue. For instance, if you have gastric problem, do not choose a unit with missing southwest.

3. I will zoom into what energy is residing at the main door, stove and master bedroom. For those that have read my previous posting, certain energies at the main door can cause serious health issue. Stove located at wrong sector in kitchen may hamper the plan of couple who wants to make babies.

4. On a more detailed level, we try to match couple's Gua number to the house to make sure the bedroom energy can support them. I will also check what business or occupation they are in to make sure the house can support their endeavours.

5. If your queue number for the BTO is quite in the front, then it would also be easier for me to tell you which level to choose. Different floor, different qi.

6. I would also want to find out which sector your main door is located so as to see if that level energies can support the door. (Method 5 and 6 are based on Purple White system)

7. Last but not least, give me a call before you go for your appointment with HDB to tell me which of the shortlisted flats have been taken up. In case you are left with only 2 units that are not the top choices, I can still help you decide on the best one. This is reality.

NB: Colour scheme has nothing got to do with feng shui and hence do not be too concerned about the painting of the flat.

Thanks to the support of blog fans, clients and fengshui/bazi enthusiasts, I am organising the 2-Day bazi workshop again which objective is to teach participants how to do practical bazi reading and offer practical solutions to their friends and clients.

On a technical level, we will address some of the concepts that have always been subjected to alot of controversies and heated arguments. We must acknowledge the fact that there are many school of thoughts in the study of bazi and in this class, we will try to make sense out of some these theories. For instance:

- When does a chart becomes a follower and when it is not

- Under what situation do you consider a combination that remains a combination and does not transform. What does it imply in real life?

Different Folks, Different Strokes but Same Objective

The 3rd run of Xuan Kong Da Gua Date Selection Class ended yesterday after visiting 2 HDB flats and 1 retail shop. From the west to the east, the cars formed a convoy, bringing everyone from one point to another but stopping over at 136 Tampines Food market to satisfy our hunger after visiting an interesting case at Bukit Batok West. This is a period 8 HDB flat (sitting Wu facing Zi) with missing sector in the NE, which is the cause for the occupants' chronic health issues. What is the health issue and which Life Gua are affected? It is all in the Xuan Kong.

All participants have the good chance to see how the cosmic trinity in Xuan Kong Da Gua is applied to usher in prosperity. Although everyone came from different schools, the zealousness in everyone to pick up this ancient knowledge has sparked off exciting exchanges on topics from flying stars to date selection to luo pan models.

Participants were also taught on exceptions to use XKDG date even when the day and hour branches were clashing. In fact, some grandmasters have termed such dates as "instantaneous prosperous san sha formation".

旺气归中 or loosely translated as "Wang Qi returns to centre", are auspicious XKDG date formation that not only ushers in great wealth but also for healing purposes. This was discussed during the 2-day theory class.

The last destination got us to my client's house near Tampines Junior College . This is a good case study to illustrate how door tilting is done so that 7-star Robbery broke into the house. No, this is not a feng shui boo-boo that subjects the owner to "robberies" but to help the house to rob the prosperous qi for them. My client told all of us that to date, since she moves in in April, she has "kena" 3 times of 4D - or lottery. I hope she has recovered her renovation cost.

It is all about Within the Gua

GM Zeng Zi Nan, the Guru of San Yuan Di Li Xuan Kong Da Gua, and the man who was holding on to the most sought-after closely guarded secret of Xie Zi Fa, passed away in 2006 at the age of 100.

I believed he must have carefully calculated and waited for this most powerful date of Xuan Kong Da Gua to arrive before he called it a day.

This is to ensure that his future generations would benefit from this nobility- and prosperity-guaranteed Xuan Kong Da Gua Date Structure set-up.

There is a saying for this formation "卦不出位, 代代人尊贵."

It implies if the hexagrams of the formation in this date structure is within-Gua, every descendant in the future generation will be noble and well-respected.

So, what the hell did one of our greatest contemporary San Yuan masters choose for his own burial timing?

White Tiger and Green Dragon

When come to the selection of unit in a row of shop-houses, I would normally check the external fengshui using naked eyes then followed by luo pan to determine the energy distribution within the unit. Of course, what is very important is also how the main door of the shop is positioned.

Doing feng shui without luo pan is not about casting a divination (卜卦 ) on the spot using Yi Jing to determine the auspiciousness of the house. It is merely based on the concept of yin and yang. Before all the formula-based fengshui methods were established, this millennia-old art simply relies on the yin and yang surrounding of the house to determine its prosperity, health, relationship and affected occupants.

An intimate understanding on the concept of white tiger, green dragon, black turtle and red phoenix or right, left, back and front respectively (十字天心) of a property is able to reveal juicy stories happening inside. Henpecked husband, sickly wife, sexual problem, haunted house, politicking, poor business, prosperous business, high staff turnover and etc are some examples of using yin-yang concept to do the reading – just by standing in front of the house and without even dishing out the luo pan.

How is this done?

You see. Either green dragon or white tiger, it is associated with certain attributes. For instance, the tiger side represents woman, the front of your house is wealth, the back is health/relationship and the left or dragon side is man. Just to name a few. And you are supposed to see water, mountain, building, drain, empty land , road and etc only in certain area.

In a street where there are 2 rows of shop-houses, which shops actually prosper depend on which side they are located. In addition, we also look at whether the dragon side is stronger. How the road is sloping pass the shop is also a major consideration. Is the road sloping from the tiger to the dragon side or is it the other way round.

For your shop to make money, you should have higher ground on the right of your shop. You will then receive what is known as reverse water. On the other hand, if it is other way round, your business will not be too good compare to your neighbor opposite. Furthermore, be mindful of staff issue especially if you employ mostly ladies.

What if you are not able to tell which side is higher? Then may I suggest you visit the shop during raining day and you will see how the water is flowing on the road.

Above is just a simple illustration. There are more layers to it. I will slowly peel the layers of onion.

Bazi of DSK - Completing the picture

I know many bazi enthusiasts have been discussing intensely over DSK and I am also flattered to know that my recent blog post on him has triggered some debates in the forums. That is a humbling experience for me. Unfortunately, I did not sign up the forum earlier and could not share some of my views - which would otherwise help me to complete the picture of my analysis. But luckily, I have the chance to read some good arguments and valid points put forward by some bazi practitioners in the forum (I did not contribute anything so I am not able to see too many things).

In my journey of bazi, I have learnt from several bazi masters and I have realised that almost all of them have different school of thoughts. Each has its own system and level of accuracy on certain aspects of analysing bazi. I have experienced shen sha system, pictorial system, zi ping system, divinative bazi system and etc. You then judge for yourself, through many many bazi analyses and research, which methodology gives you the highest level of confidence. I am lucky I have found something I am very comfortable with.

One of you asked me if he can fit into Wealth creates Sha category. My answer is yes you can use the Xin Si hour pillar - as long as the heavenly stem (in my opinion) is not water. But for me, I choose to have fire revealed based on certain experience. I just hope DSK can come to my dream later and tell me. But I learned from my french friend that they do not have the hour on their birth certificate. They got to ask their parents - provided they can remember :)

If water reveals, then DSK will become 财多身子弱. And he cannot then be so rich. Then water element will be his favourable element which to me does not make sense for him to have suffered such ill fate this time. The effect of fan yin will also be reduced. Shouldn't favourable water resource star bring him more luck? Again, the principles are based on what I have inherited from my teacher and my experience with such bazi.

In the bazi system I use, I have never neglected Luck cycle. This time round DSK has. like one of you also rightly pointed out, 破格 as water is negative god for a follower chart. Plus, his self element is rooted too this year. The last water cycle was not so bad because Gui water was combined ("hamstrung") by the Wu earth and hence its effectiveness is reduced.

"Follow the wealth Daymaster" to me is not a formation like Eating God Controls 7 Killing. It is a category of where your strength of the bazi fits into. Either your bazi is weak, strong, vibrant or follower. Of course to complicate matters a bit, you have fake vibrant and fake follower charts too.

The luck cycle of DSK since young is very good as all his positive elements revealed on heavenly stems. Some practitioners look at earthly branches only but I focus on stems on my reading. This is probably why some students feedback "new school of thoughts". I do not think it is new as the principles I followed are from classics. It is probably a different perspective.

Xie Zi Fa and Our Destiny

This is the bazi of Dominique Strauss-Kahn (aka DSK). A french man who was heading the IMF till the day he was arrested for sexually assualting a hotel chamber maid on 14 May 2011.

An economic professor and lawyer by training, DSK has held positions as Minister in the government throughout his illustrious career path. He is also closely watched as one of the potential presidential candidate for France 2012 election.

In my opinion and from my experience, this is a bazi that belongs to the special category of Follower chart. Specifically, this is a "follow the wealth" structure and the fire element is the Useful god or yong shen for him.

What I would like you to pay a bit more attention to is that this year, his day pillar is having a Fan Yin relationship with the annual luck pillar Xin Mao. Fan Yin or some called it inverse siren implies an event that will cause great emotional upset to the person. In terms of 5 elements relationship, there are clashes between the heavenly stems and earthly branches. This is also known as a betrayal clash.

Fan Yin, is, in my own opinion, in a way more controllable than Fu Yin. You can actually see it coming. If you want, you can prevent it.

The 10-God involves basically DSK's 7 Killing star and Friend star. As he is going through his negative resource luck cycle, 7 Killing star turns from positive to negative. In terms of 10-God attributes, this refers to people who dislike him, drop in reputation, legal suit and lost of self control.

Why does it only happen this year? My answer is because there is a fan yin which triggers it.

Bazi Practical Workshop on 14 & 15 May 2011

It was such a wonderful moment getting to know bazi enthusiasts coming from different schools sharing their experience and asking very valid questions.

Understand the Implication of Fan Yin and Fu Yin

There is a saying in Chinese bazi classic that if you encounter Fan Yin or Fu Yin in your bazi, you will experience a crying event.

Some people translate this to Siren and Inverse Siren. For example, if you are Xin Mao daymaster, this year you will experience crying event because 2011's annual luck pillar is Xin Mao. On the other hand, if you are Ding You daymaster or Yi You daymaster, it will be a year of fan yin.

Yin + Hai = Combination or Separation?

Many bazi practitioners and enthusiasts often got quite puzzled when they encounter both Yin Wood and Hai Water present in a bazi chart.

The immediate question that follows is always "Should I treat them as a combination? Or should I read it as a separation or some call it destruction?"

It depends. Sometimes, both scenario will happen at the same time. Yes, life is multi-dimensional. Can't we meet someone new and then ditch our old love? Can't a young man meet someone he likes, enters into a relationship and when he is ready to bring her back home, his mother suddenly passed away? All this can happen within the same year.

If a transformation can take place beyond the combination, then it is likely to be a happy union, a new partnership, a collaboration and the tying of nuptial knots. Otherwise, it leads to a sad event, a separation, a divorce, someone dear passing on and a break-up in partnership.

Based on my experience, there are a few factors to examine before coming to a conclusion on the event of happening based on the combination between Yin wood and Hai water:

1. Does the season support the transformation? If yes, what about the luck cycle?

2. Which palaces are Yin wood and Hai water residing in? That will give you the clue on if the event is going to have a direct impact on you.

3. Which 10 Gods are involved - do not forget to look at the heavenly stem as this will ultimately point you to the subject.

Eg. A weak Xin Hai daymaster person going through 2010 Geng Yin year. He met a new girl and then divorce her wife.

Eg. A strong Bing Yin daymaster going through 1995 Yi Hai year. This guy met a lady who he married her later on.

Eg. A strong Yi Hai daymaster going through 2010 Geng Yin. His uncle whom he is very dear to suddenly passed away.

Eg. A strong Ding Hai daymaster lady got married in 2010.

Xuan Kong Da Gua Ling Shen Sha

San Yuan Xuan Kong Da Gua, 64 Hexagrams, can also be used for fortune telling and wedding date selection.

For wedding date selection, you can compare the couple's 4 Pillars against the date selected. Year to Year, Month to Month, Day to Day and Hour to Hour. Of course you need to ensure all the important principles taught in XKDG date selection system are not violated.

If all 4 of the pillars conform to the auspicious formation, then the couple will enjoy blissful marriage till death do them apart. If only 3 Pillars, it also means good marriage; 2 Pillars will be average and 1 Pillar is bad.

For destiny analysis purpose, you can simply just rely on your birth year pillar to determine how prosperous or bumpy your life will be in this period by looking at your Xuan Kong 5 Element and Period number of your year pillar hexagram. There are basically 5 types of sha or killing forces that one can violate and they are:

1. Main Ling Shen Sha

2. Sub Ling Shen Sha

3. Main External Ling Shen Sha

4. Sub External Ling Shen Sha

5. Double Ling Shen Sha

For instance, if you are born in 1975, hexagram Yi Mao (1/4) during Period 7, you would have violated sha number 2,4 and 5 as mentioned above. This would spell troubles. Accident, monetary losses, law suit, illness and even sudden death may befall on you if your house is not supported by good Xuan Kong Da Gua fengshui formation.

Xuan Kong Da Gua 7 Stars Robbed the Knowledge!

Over the last 3 days, enthusiastic and passionate Xuan Kong Da Gua Date Selection practitioners

have their hands-on practical lesson on different types of property, travelling to several parts of Singapore to apply what they have learnt in classroom.

First stop was a HDB flat in the East followed by an office space in a hotel. Over there, practitioners learnt to re-align the bed and office desk to be in sync with same hexagram family members to create fast result. Of course this has to be coupled with the person's hexagram and a powerful Xuan Kong Da Gua Date.

The last stop brought us to a shophouse at Tanjong Pagar area where practitioners witnessed how the main door was re-aligned (no obvious tilting) to bring in the prosperous qi in Period 8. A few fengshui techniques including the Ming Tang concept were shared on how to make the shop stands out from its neighbours.

In order for the practitioners to have a flavour of what Xuan Kong Da Gua Feng Shui is about, River East/River West and 7 Stars Robbery theories were also touched on so that all the participants can take away some useful tips in creating result for themselves.

Carlos Slim - Richest Man on Earth

Forbes has just ranked Carlos Slim as the world's richest man. Bill Gates has slided to a 2nd position.

Carlos was born on 28 Jan 1940. I have extrapolated his birth time.

Geng metal born in winter season. Is his Daymaster weak or strong? In my opinion this is a weak chart. His current luck cycle is Geng Wu - fu yin onto his day pillar. But it is a positive fu yin.

If this is a strong chart, then 2009, 2010 and 2011 would be considered unfavourable years for him since earth and metal elements revealed on heavenly stems. However, he is ranked world's richest man in 2010 and 2011.

One thing to note is also the presence of an excellent bazi structure - Geng chopped Jia to lure Ding formation - all on heavenly stems.

Chou Yao Huan Xiang - The Little Red Dots

These little red dots at the outer ring of the xuan kong da gua luo pan are also known as the auspicious dot. Depending on the period of the hexagram, there could be one, two or even up to 4 little red dots scattered over the 6 yaos within each hexagram. For instance, Period 6 hexagram will see 2 red dots positioned in between the first & second yao and fifth & sixth yao respectively. For Period 2, there will be 3.

How we position the red dots in the ring need some careful calculation through the changing of yao. This method is used mainly during the fine-tuning of your door or tombstone. It is said that by placing the alignment onto the red dot will usher in prosperity.

However, the problem here is that not all red dots within a hexagram can be used. This may result in total destruction on the formation that you wish to create for your burial site or house if you place it on the wrong red dot. Don't forget, the little red dots position is derived from the concept of Chou Yao Huan Xiang and you could literally change into a wrong "xiang" or image and corrupt the "One big family formation" or "Qian Shan Qian Xiang formation" that you have been trying to install.

Putting Bazi in Perspective

Insofar from my exchanges with participants in bazi classes and consults, I see the need to put things in perspective when come to certain bazi concepts. They told me this is what they have been told or learnt. I just want to share some of my thoughts here and I do welcome comments and discussions.

[Notion 1] A Daymaster cannot be weak today and when supporting elements comes during luck cycle, it becomes strong. (It is not logical. This means your positive and negative elements will keep changing.)

[Notion 2] A weak chart does not like to see elements that weaken them such as wealth star, output star and authority star. For strong chart, it is vice versa. To be more specific, this is to say that all weak daymasters will never like to see Direct Officer or 7 Killing stars. And all strong daymasters will definitely like to see Direct Officer or 7 Killing stars. (This is incorrect. Alot of weak bazi charts have positive and strong Direct Officer or 7 Killing stars and instead of becoming a gangster, most are high fliers in the corporate world. )

[Notion 3] Only strong chart can harness wealth and become rich. Weak bazi chart can only dream of becoming rich. (Bill Gate is a weak chart. How?)

[Notion 4] I do not subscribe to the notion of "you-are-weak-but-not-so-weak". So, are you weak or strong? Let's face it. Unless you are damn bloody good with divinative or pictorial bazi reading, let's follow the fundamentals to arrive at a confident answer. This will help in deciding on your useful element and hence make your prediction accurate.

[Notion 5] Alot of people focus on Earthly Branches as they are deemed to carry a heavier weightage. Then people neglect Heavenly Stems and some even say it is not important. I pity those ancient masters that have dedicated their whole life in researching and writing important classics like Qiong Tong Bao Jian which emphasizes on stems.

Face Reading and Sexual Desire

In the study of bazi, we can determine somebody's level of libido and his or her desire for opposite sex by looking at the presence of some stars. In terms of Shen Sha, I usually zoom into stars like Salt Pool and Peach Blossom and examine how they are positioned in the bazi chart. In terms of 10 Gods, I will look at Direct Officer / 7 Killing and Indirect Wealth stars for ladies and men respectively. This technique is highly accurate but it will deem to be very rude for you to verify directly with your client on this. You cannot just tell your client straight into her face and say "Hey, you are horny and you are always fantasizing about men. Am I right?"

Ok what about face reading? How do you tell then? There are many ancient chinese face reading classics that have done quite good job in collecting information in this respect and many of them point to the lips for the answer. Those with a lower thicker lip are more sexually than emotionally inclined when come to any relationship. They are aroused much easier.

In the classic Ren Sheng Yao Zi, it has this very insightful discovery which I am going to share here. There is a very strong correlation between your face features and various segments of your sexual organ. For instance for a lady,

- Lips and Labia

- Eyebrow and Pubic Hair

- Mouth and Vagina

- Philtrum and Uterus

- Eyes and Vagina Lubrication

If the phitrum (the sunken part above your lips) is slanted, the uterus will also be slanted. I also based on the philtrum to advise my clients if they will go through a smooth delivery or long labour. For ladies who have big mouth and thick lips (for example Angelina Jolie), their boyfriend or husband would often need to put in more effort to satisfy their urge. Theoretically, when a lady's mouth is big, their vagina is correspondingly looser. This makes it less sensitive and hence, they "want more" to get the satisfaction.

For a guy, the tell-tale signs involve a lower thicker lip and a big nose (like Jackie Chan). In fact, the size of your nose also correlates to the size of your penis. The bigger it is, the higher is your sex drive.

There is an interesting finding that if one has a mole on his nose, he can also find one on his penis. A lady who has one on the lip, she will find one outside the vagina too. You check it out and let me know. All these are just part of the The Mole Classic.

Last but not least, just a tip for ladies who are going for blind dates, if you discover your date wet his lips using his tongue quite often before talking to you, be mindful of his ulterior motive.

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the readers and blog fans of Heaven.Man.Earth a prosperous and bountiful 2011 ahead.

Recently, I was asked by one of my clients on how can they see the results of fengshui and will there be any yardstick to measure the outcome. I told him yes. In fact, result of fengshui cannot be wolly. I always asked my clients during the consult what specific goals they would like to achieve so that I can prescribe the right solution for them. Insofar on all the fengshui jobs that I have done, I would like to sum up what are the issues that clients usually hired me for and what kind of tangible fengshui result that I have created for them so that they can compare the before and after.

To make things less complicated, I will just mention the Top 3 service requests for my feng shui consult:

1. Feng Shui Improvement in Business

I am talking about helping MNCs, SMEs, retailers and even property agents and financial advisors to rake in more business and sales. To break it down in specific, we zoom into the income increase over next few months. There must be an increase in prospects, leads or revenue within the first 2 months. The fastest is 3 days and that is provided I can find the "G-SPOT" (ehem I mean Good Spot) in your office which I use it to connect with you and the timing of activation. This is definitely measurable by comparing the new result with previous months.

2. Feng Shui Improvement in Health

I normally look at the stove or bedroom and re-align the bed position so that the client will be able to benefit from healing energy. The person receiving the fengshui help will be able to feel it in terms of stamina and energy level. They also fall sick less frequently after that. Patients suffering from diabetes or cholesterol can see the difference in the readings in their medical report. Those who suffer stiff neck and shoulders, migraine, soar knee cap, lower back pain and even insomnia can experience the positive effect.

3. Feng Shui Improvement in Romance

I am usually approached by ladies for this. The result is quantifiable and I have already received many good feedbacks but only a handful would like me to publish their testimonials as they do not want their new boyfriend to come to know that they have engaged fengshui help in seeking for love. (Why huh? It is not black magic what.)) The result is obvious. Most of them got attached, some of them suddenly got approached by strangers who want to befriend them (never happen in their entire life) and the rest experienced the feeling of "more guys seem to be interested in me after Jo activated my peach blossom star in my room'. I believe you can count the number of guys and hence I say that it can be quantified.

Bazi . Pictorial . Divination

During a recent bazi workshop, I was introducing the concept of bazi being used as a form of divination technique vis-a-vis other common systems like King's Wen or I-Ching to the participants.

Such way of reading bazi does not require all 4 Pillars to be present. Depending on the subject matter, you can extract just one pillar for your reading. For instance, if you are asking about career prospect in 2011, we zoom into how your hour pillar interacts with the annual pillar of 2011. Sometimes, without knowing your bazi, I just look at today's day pillar and how it compares with 2011. If there is a clash or combination, chances are you will change job in the coming year. To know the cause of the change and how good is the prospect of the new job, you need to look at the 10 Gods involved.

It is of paramount importance for bazi students to learn and write the heavenly stems and earthly branches in chinese character. There are tell-tale signs that you can pick up just by looking at the shape of the chinese character especially if you are also into 测字 or in English I call it Word Divination. For example, if you wish to know the outcome of an event and you saw a 乙巳，chances are the event is going to take an unexpectable turn. If a lady comes to you and asks you what is happening to her now and you saw the word 申，you can instinctively tell her that she is expecting - and it will be a girl - when you also suddenly discover a spider on your table. This is the inexplicable part about chinese metaphysics which makes it so enigmatic or 玄 .

Intrigued by the concept of bazi divination, one of the ladies in the class volunteered to help her classmate M, who was seated on her right, to ask if she is able to have a grandchild in 2011. I did not have the grandmother-to-be's bazi. So, I asked the younger lady for her day pillar which is 辛巳. With that, we can extrapolate and say that M's day pillar is 庚辰 (which may not be her actual day pillar in her bazi) based on their seating arrangement.

When the lady popped the question, it was a 己丑 day. A 庚辰 lady's grandchild (her son's kid) is her resource star. Earth is so prominent at the point of divination. So, I told her to wait for good news.

In doing bazi divination, an important thing to highlight is that there must be a very specific question asked in order for me or for any bazi practitioner to give you a good answer. Such method of reading is very fluid but require one to be intuitive at that point in time.

Just came back from the soft launch of the 2nd edition of local celebrity cum martial art champion, Vincent Ng's fitness book "TEN". I was also there to do some fengshui fine-tuning for his new martial art school at Jurong East.

Incidentally, Wu Shu or pugilistic art, comes under the umbrella of the chinese 5 Arts - 山医命卜相 (Mountain, Medicine, Destiny, Divination and Physiognomy). Feng Shui falls under the category of physiognomy together with palmistry and face reading. On the other hand, pugilistic art belongs to the Art of Mountain. Anyway, all calls for balance of yin and yang.

What is in my Bazi to be so flabby?

Obesity - I am at risk. I stand at 1.7 m and weigh about 70kg. But my BMI says that I am inclining towards obese category. I just cannot slim down as much as I want even though I had gone through a punishing workout regime before. I look as if I have a beer belly and the sad thing is that I do not even drink!

Some of my friends including ladies eat alot, don't really work out alot and yet they have always looked trim and fit. I cannot even grab their love handle.

Sigh. What is in my bazi to be so flabby? How do we tell from bazi if someone is naturally shapely? And on the flip side, what is the culprit element that causes somone to grow fat easily?

Lets talk about ladies who are slender. Based on my experience, usually you can see the authority star revealing on the heavenly stems. If it is a strong chart that are surrounded by 7 Killing, the lady is not only slim but also voluptuous. More so if the Authority star is metal or fire. Presence of output stars also has some impact.

On the other hand, abundant earth elements in one's chart is almost always a tell-tale sign about weighty issue. He or she may not be fat but being fleshy is unavoidable. I seldom come across a thin person who has alot of earth in his bazi. But as a self-consolation, you can always say that it increases one's stability and trust level since earth represents trustworthiness. :)

So, fighting obesity can start from the womb. If you wish your children to grow up in good shape, then do make sure Authority star is present in their bazi.

This House always Strikes Lottery

I cannot think of any elegant way to present my title. I thought I might just come straight to the point and be blatant about it. Usually, out of 10 houses that I visited, only 1 to 2 have relatively good feng shui. Today's case study is one the few rare houses which I have fengshui-ed recently has exceptionally good feng shui environment (in terms of wealth) waiting to be tapped.

This is a high rise HDB flat at Yishun Street 71 with a South facing. A period 7 property with 3 occupants - an aged mother and her 2 children. The flying star chart is drawn up here. The house has a Southwest door and this year, star 5 flies there. [Note: I did not put up the actual floor plan, instead, I used another one that has a similar main door location and masterbed room.]

We may be taught in our kindergarten flying stars school that star 5 is the worst star to be confronted with. It is associated with calamities, bankruptcy, terminal illnesses and whatever bad things you can think of. However, in this case, star 5 appears to me as such a desirable and lovable cute little money god. No longer it is synonymous with hideous image of a devil. It now becomes the much coveted angel that you hope to keep it as a pet. Star 5 has played a very pivotal role in ushering in more money this year to this house.

Let's zoom into the feng shui. The main door has star combo of 6,8. The most ideal pair of stars to have in Period 8 for wealth creation and business opportunities. The mother, who is a housewife, sleeps in the room at Northeast sector with a Southwest room door. The family has moved in more than a decade ago. Occasionally in the past, she would strike some lotteries. Not an enormous amount, but good enough to make her a happy person.

After I did her house feng shui recently, a phenomeon took place last week. The mother struck lottery in 3 consecutive days - Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday!! Her daughter was so happy for the mother that she wrote me a testimonial.

What I did was merely re-positioning her bed and fine tuning to an angle so that she can tap into better qi. One of the objectives is also for her to have better stamina and health. To be honest, I do not create miracle, I just help the family to leverage on the window of opportunities that the environment and timing have created for this house.

What about other stars combinations at your main door? Do they bring in the same prosperity? How can Star 5 be positive and creating wealth for me? Which occupant will benefit from it? When can I expect that to happen? If I do not have it, can I create it?

10 Gods and Hexagram, do they go hand in hand?

In the study of Xuan Kong Da Gua Feng Shui, I find this one of the most intriguing aspects of the application. Although this looks very much like King's Wen Divination method, the actual use is to fast forward the events that you are hoping for. Or use it as a way to predict what is coming up for you in certain years.

On the left side of the hexagram as shown here, it represents the year. On the right side, it indicates the 10-God that is assigned to each yao or line.

Say if you are too impatient to wait another few years for the prosperous star to usher in the good tidings to your house, you can do some adjustments to your house facing to make things happen and even zoom in to who you want it to benefit from it.

One application is for couples who are not able to conceive due to the absence of child element in the house hexagram.

People who find that they are financially stuck after moving in to new house or office could attribute the cause to the lack of wealth element in the hexagram.

Solution? Do check the adjacent hexagrams to see if there is the presence of wealth element in it. If there is, do not just proceed to move your door. Make sure the new hexagram sitting is in compliance with XKDG principles and aligned in accordance to the current period.

Marrying a Good Wife

You have heard cases that some guys immediately become better in their career and wealth luck after they got married. You also heard gossips that some guys become rich only because of their wife.

In chinese, the term is 夫凭妻贵. This means that the men becomes more affluent or gain nobility after they marry. Most of the time, they marry a wife that comes from a wealthy family background or the wife is a successful business woman.

So, what does it say in their bazi? It is about the quality of their wealth star. There are 2 layers of analysis to look at :

1. the star residing in the spouse palace

2. the wealth (spouse) star

A few possible scenarios:

i. You can marry a rich wife (good quality wealth star) but it does not guarantee blissfulness in marriage (negative star in spouse palace).

ii. You can marry a very caring and supportive wife (good star in spouse palace) that can take care of the household and render you with emotional support although she may not be financially independent.

iii. Having a successful wife who is also a friend in need to share your woes and sorrows. She is also a loving mother to the kids. This is the ideal case when you have positive wealth star sitting in spouse palace. In ancient chinese society, I believe all mother-in-laws would want their son to marry someone like this who is 旺夫益子 (prosper the husband and benefit the children).

Take a look at Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau's bazi who is a Gui-Hai Daymaster. Many would say that Robwealth star is the worst star to be inside one's spouse palace because as the name suggests, someone will rob your wealth (wife) away one day. True only if your bazi belongs to strong chart. For his case, his wife's family belongs to one of the richest families in Malaysia. She has also always been the behind-the-scene woman, quietly supporting Andy Lau for 20 over years and yet never mind that she is not recognised publicly as the wife of the superstar.

For those of you who are blessed to have such a good wife from a bazi perspective, please continue to treasure her, love her and do not take her for granted. I heard of real life stories that there were successful businessmen who experienced a plunge in career when they become unfaithful and later on divorced by their wife. One of them becomes taxi driver as a matter of fact.

PS: I am not implying that we do not then love our wife who are less than ideal - again in bazi sense. Don't get me wrong.

Extract the Yao Change the Image 抽爻换象 - Part 2a

Based on the example in my earlier post, you can see that the sitting hexagram changes from one point to another - at least a difference of 2 mountains. Does that mean that during the implementation, the tomb sitting or house main door has to be tilted to such a manner? I think if this is the case then Chou Yao Huan Xiang might not be as beautiful as it is perceived.

There are a few layers of calculation on the hexagrams respectively for Dragon, Mountain, Facing and Water before we arrive at the sitting hexagram we want to create the result.

The sitting hexagram is the crux that we do the yao extraction to change to the image we want. The numbers within the hexagram must conform to either of the following:

1. He Tu

2. Sum of 5

3. Sum of 10

4. Sum of 15

Then steps are taken to check if the same criteria will apply to inter-hexagrams.

If everything conforms, congratulation, you have hit Yi Gua Cun Qing.

Sound too simple? It is that straight forward but the challenge here is how to get a house into such a spot.

Can this method be applied for a HDB flat? Or can you create such a formation in your bedroom or office?

I believe it can.

Excuse me, how come I am still Single?

This is one of the frequently asked questions - from ladies.

I do not think this is something embarrasing. Women are receiving the equal treatment as men in the society and many have proven themselves to be as capable as their male counterparts - if not, better. They are more confident to speak up, gung-ho, swift in decision making, intelligent and have been given a larger role to play in the corporate and political arena.

Many women that I know of are very driven and spend long hours on their work. They do not mind putting their career first and boyfriend/husband later. And then what happens? They either cannot find someone they feel is comptible with them or their boyfriend/hubby runs away with other girl or most of the guys at their age are all taken. I wonder why isn't there a Vietnamese groom agency around. This may solve some of these social problems right? Just kidding.

Anyway, based on the many bazi that I have read for ladies who are not able to find their Mr Right or are having marriage issue, I always find a common trait. The output star or Shang Guan is too strong in the chart. Most of the time, for ladies who face challenges in their relationship, their Daymaster is also sitting on this star.

Shang Guan, or some masters coin it Hurting Officer (HO), is a star that counters the Officer star, which is also the husband star for a lady. Bazi talks alot about balance. Any star that is overly strong in the chart will upset the whole eco system in the bazi. If Shang Guan is too prominent, then the husband star will inevitably be marginalised. In real life situation, this means that the woman has a louder voice or wear the pants at home. She is argumentative and love to challenge the hubby/boyfriend. She flares up pretty easily due to her quick temper and the words she use can be quite hurting. The above scenario is typical of a lady who has negative hurting officer structure. If you think that man has the biggest voice and ego, this is because you have not got it from a HO lady.

Shang Guan also talks about one's talent, creactivity, entrepreneurial spirit, ability to express and convince people. It is a career star. Thus, women who have more of such star in their bazi are intrinsically propelled to want to make a difference in their lifetime. They are not satisfied with status quo. In fact, many outstanding singers and stage performers are using Shang Guan. When a lady spends a huge portion of her time on career, she naturally does not have time for her man. Sometimes, she is so focus on her career that she forgets the way to the man's heart. Over a period of time, the man may get frustrated and cracks start to surface in the relationship.

Besides the presence of strong HO in the bazi, direct clash or punishment onto the spouse palace is another strong tell-tale sign of why a lady is not able to get married. A clash or sometimes a combination between spouse palace and adjacent palace is a time-bomb of divorce waiting for the annual luck pillar to trigger it.

Does this mean all HO ladies are doomed when romance is concerned? Not really. In my humble opinion, to keep your man, there are 2 possible avenues:

A) Practise self mastery to control the explosive side of you [using Resource element to control]

B) Reward them [using Wealth element to arbitrate]

Different folks different strokes. But I would always advise my clients to go for option A and adopt a "3-Less" approach - less impatient, less egoistic and less blunt.

Extract the Yao Change the Image 抽爻换象 - Part 1

I have been hesitating for quite a while whether I should talk about this topic in a public domain because again I might be ruffling some feathers. Many chinese books out there wrote about it but I just find that few people have contributed articles written in English to share this very advance and intriguing concept. There is this shade of mystery that I hope to unveil and discuss openly about it.

The enigma is further compounded when many people start to associate this method with Xie Zi Fa. Some masters firmly believe that this is the closely guarded secret of Xie Zi Fa. True or not? Only Zeng's son will know.

In my own humble opinion, I find that this 抽爻换象 or Chou Yao Huan Xiang secret is over-hyped. It gives an impression to many enthusiasts that this is such a powerful trick that will create prosperity overnight. No, I am NOT condemning this concept. I believe it is effective too.

I also practise and research on Xuan Kong Da Gua. So, how can I go against something that I breathe and live and see it working for me. What I am trying to say is that in the study of Xuan Kong Da Gua Feng Shui, please appreciate other sister techniques as well. If you are just focusing on this in your entire pursuit of Feng Shui, then I am afraid you are missing the big picture.

The purpose of this blog post is for me to share a bit more about the meaning of Chou Yao Huan Xiang and how it is applied. I will break this up into 2 parts so that it is more digestible.

A hexagram is made up of 2 trigrams. There are 6 lines (solid or broken) altogether and each line is also known as a Yao. Chou Yao Huan Xiang simply means you select one of the yaos (example solid line) and replace it with broken line. By doing this, the hexagram image will transform. Why do we want to do this? Basically, we want to create a very prosperous fengshui set-up or in technical term 一卦纯清格局 (One-Gua Pure Formation).

Take a look at the example below.

The dragon (龙) and water (水) position cannot be changed. So, we have to change our house or grave sitting to suit the landform. Therefore, just by extracting the 3rd yao of the sitting (山) hexagram, it gives you your desired hexagram (as shown below). The question to ask is "how do we know what is the desired hexagram?". I will talk about this later. This is normally not disclosed.

This is the first step. The reason why we want to chou yao huan xiang is to make sure yin and yang gua must make love all the time.

You will notice that there are 2 numbers in red attached to each hexagram. They play an important role in making sure we achieve the One-gua Pure Formation.

10 October 2010 - Good to get wed?

In today's Sunday Time, it was reported that more than 700 couples are planning to get married on this Perfect 10 day. Is 10.10.10 really a good date? What about the hour? Must it be at 10 am too?

What is so big deal about number 10. I only know that Sum of 10 in fengshui study is auspicious as it signifies a balance between the yin and yang. Xuan Kong Da Gua practitioners like myself would favour such formation because the pairing of hexagrams will result in good outcome.

However, the Perfect 10 combination here is merely based on the gregorian calendar. In terms of chinese astrological calculation based on the qi of that day, is it suitable for a couple to tie the knot? In my opinion, which is guided by the classical chinese system that deals with wedding affairs, this day is quite a good day. But you need to choose a good hour so that the positive energies of that day will not be neutralised by bad hour. And as a matter of fact, people with certain animal signs will not be able to benefit from this good day simply because the day energy clashes into them. Let me go into some technicalities here.

To begin, we plot the bazi of the day. This day is known as 阴阳不将日 - a very ideal day (only 12 such days in that month) for getting wed due to the balance in yin and yang energy. This term comes from the classic 嫁娶碎金赋. While the Tong Shu indicates that this is a "Danger Day" and nobody is to do anything too major in his/her life, I think it does not matter because the Chinese Almanac is too generalised.

Knowing that this is a good date, we will now come to the hour. I would recommend 辰 hour in the early morning as it contains positive stars like 天官贵人，司命 and the star that we all like to have for wedding which is 喜神. During this hour, go to the Registry of Marriage and sign on the wedding certificate. The positive stars up in the sky will give you all the blessings for a wonderful and blissful marriage life forever.

So, who are the people that have a conflict with 10.10.10? It will be those who are born in the year of Pig which has the strongest impact. Besides, groom who belongs to animal sign of rabbit or rooster, and bride who is born in year of dragon will not really benefit from the good energies.

On the other hand, those who will receive the blessings from this good day will be ladies who are born in tiger, horse and dog years.

This is just to give you a flavour of what entails in professional wedding date selection. The entire process is rigorous and more complex as the system will need to address issues like:

- compatibility of the date with the couple's bazi

- compatibility of the date with the in-laws (especially mother-in-laws :P)

- compatibility of the date with the couple's child star

- hour to be compatible to the day (make sure there are good stars around)

- day to be compatible to the month

- month to be compatible to the year

- the bazi of the selected day and hour must overall contain good energies as not all days are created equally

Make sure your consultant do his or her due diligence to select a good date for you and not just read from the Tong Shu - which is meant for lay person.

Once in a Life Time

I am going to ruffle some feathers today. Some people may not find it palatable.

Some customers asked me if they need to engage me every year to re-assess their house feng shui since the energy changes every year.

When I threw the question back to them to ask them why did they think that feng shui must be re-audited every year, they told me this is what they had been advised previously. And every year, without fail, their consultant will suggest to them to buy new items to place at different locations to counter whatever lousy energy or killing forces. And without fail, the customer will part some money with the consultant as a form of annual maintenance fee. It will go on and on until one day when the earth comes to a stop.

I cursed myself. Why didn't I go by this business model? I could have made alot of money. Why must I fix everything upfront at one go?

Well, it is true that energy is cyclical. However, if you are able to design a good fengshui structure for the house at the onset, then it will last you for quite a while - at least 20 years. Good enough? Yes, just 10 years of solid luck and it can turn a pauper into a prince.

In feng shui, there is this term known as San Yuan Bu Bai or 3 Cycles Indestructible. 3 Cycles last you 180 years. With good landform and correct arrangement of Long, Shan, Xiang and Shui, you will deserve the good luck at least for as long as you live.

Do I follow up with customers every year? Yes I do. But it is usually a friendly phone call or over a cup of coffee to find out their ahievement and their next milestone. If they need my help, I will sit down with them to find out what they hope to achieve, and then recommend a specific fengshui solution for them.

It is purely a on-demand basis. Feng Shui talks about achieving specific outcome. Nothing wolly.

Grasshopper

I met a friend and had a long chat at a coffeeshop near his house. He invited me to this coffeeshop at within Ang Mo Kio HDB estate because he thought it might be a good case study for my fengshui class. Not a single coffee shop owner can operate for more than 1 year ever since more than 10 years ago. Some pack up and go in 3 months. It was 1230 pm. There were so many empty tables. But i like it because it was quiet and I did not feel any pressure not to order any food. We talked for more than 3 hours.

What I am going to blog about now is not the fengshui of the coffeeshop, which I will share it when it is timely, it was what my friend had shared that intrigued me. It is a topic about karma.

I requested that this photographer friend of mine emailed me his story. Below is a blow-by-blow personal experience of his.

"I went to Little India to shop for some daily necessities. While I was crossing the road, something strange happened! Both my knees just gave way. I heard a “cracking” sound and both knees went off like jelly. I literally had to hobble to the side of the road to flag a cab to get home. I called my mom to meet me at the Chinese physician as I had to get my knees treated right away.

OK, so to cut a long story short, my knees were “treated” but they did not recover fully. So I went overseas and stayed at my friend's place. As my friend was preparing to be a monk, he brought me along for some meditation lessons as well. I also did some volunteer work at the temple.

One day, I was strolling in the compound of the temple with a monk and chanced upon a grasshopper with only one leg. (Picture attached)

The monk then commented that I did not walk too well (cause my knees were on their way to recovery and quite obvious that I could not walk as fast) and told me that the grasshopper was trying to tell me something I did in the past that brought me to my present state of injured knee.

I could not really figure out what he meant.

Then suddenly, out of nowhere, I had flashback. I saw what I did as a kid. Living in kampung areas, I loved to go around hunting for grasshoppers and pull out their legs so I could tie a string around their bodies and play with them. Although this act was done without ill intention, the karma somehow caught up with me.

So I asked the monk what I should do to avert my current sufferings? He told me that I should sincerely repent my mistakes. Now, repenting our mistakes sincerely does not neutralise the negative karma. However, by realising and repenting our mistakes and asking for forgiveness, we will be more at peace to receive whatever “punishment” our karma brings us. The thing about karma is, you don't have to believe in it for it to work on you. We can all deny that the sun does not rise from the east or the moon is not a satellite, but does our denial discredit or change the facts? "

Repair and Despair

Permission has been sought from my client to publish this case study.

A family portrait that hangs on the wall of the living room captured my attention when I first stepped into the house. It is a typical picture taken in the studio with the parents seated and the 3 siblings standing behind them – all smiling. My client, the only son of the family and one of his sisters specially donned their graduation gowns for the shooting.

Nevertheless, the atmosphere in the house is in stark contrast with the portrait. The house is gloomy and you can sense that the air is filled with a shade of melancholy. What makes me more uncomfortable is the unbearable noise that comes from the construction site which is just stone-throw away from this HDB unit.

I am engaged by my client to take a look at this 4-room flat, located in an old estate, which he has spent his last 34 years there. So much sentimental values attached and yet so many heart-wrenching moments for him especially over the last few years.

Life was normal until the public housing department decided to call for a major upgrading to add a small utility room at the rear of all units. Well, in Singapore, most of the old flats will be slated for such Repair and Redecoration (R&R) exercise in time to come.

After the work had been completed for the entire building, strange things began to happen. The negative energy kicked in less than a couple of years and when it came, a series of unfortunate events unfolded just like the falling dominoes and hit them real hard.

The father was first diagnosed with pancreas cancer and within the same year he passed on. My client suffered from a strange illness in the subsequent year and that had him bedridden for a few months. Fortunately, he recovered.

On the surface, things were quiet for the next 2 years but something malevolent was probably brewing. The next wave of shocks arrived when his sister was diagnosed with uterus cancer. That was also the year (2008) the new condominium construction work commenced in the north direction. In the following year, the mom was discovered to have lymphoma cancer and within the next 6 months she succumbed to the illness. The construction is now only half completed.

The family is now left with my client and his 2 sisters. One of the sisters got married and moved out. My client is now holding the fort and he has to shoulder the emotional and financial burden as a result of his cancer-stricken sister.

I believed the main reason that he has approached me was not to hope that I could turn the situation around, but rather for me to help him find an answer for what had happened. I did my calculation and as what I have expected, the unfortunate events were a result of untimely renovation and construction work carried out at sectors that were plagued with negative annual afflictions like Tai Sui, Sui Po, 3-Killings and Earth sha. Who in the family gets it first depends on their birth year hexagram or the one who resonates at the same frequency with the bad vibes, scientifically put.

I am quite sure that his family is not the only one having such issues. True enough, I was told that the neighbours staying in the same block are also suffering from health and money problems.

Had the commencement of the construction work been pushed to another year, things will be different. Unfortunately, it is a pity that such things are beyond our control.

Moving to another house will be the best solution for my client but it is going to take some time. I have prescribed some fengshui solutions with the aim to mitigate the sister's condition. I just hope that she can walk out of her depression and fight a good battle with the illness. I cannot do miracle but I can lend her some strength through divine means.

I will continue to assist her with all my means.

Out of Gua

What is the highest form of feng shui?

Most masters would consider Xuan Kong Da Gua (64 Heagrams) as the ultimate feng shui in the San Yuan system. This method of feng shui can create miracle sometime as fast as within 2 hours. It is a complete system coupled with its proprietary date selection system.

It is applicable to both yang and yin feng shui and basically very much revolved around the use of hexagrams to create results. However, to fully comprehend this powerful divine art, one needs to have a good command of the concept of yin and yang which is often sidelined by some practitioners. Once you understand the intricacies of how the individual hexagram line or yao (爻) changes and the hexagrams associate with one another, you have already grasped the essence of it.

In Xuan Kong Da Gua, we always focus on Kinship. It values the importance of family. It believes that things cannot be too effective if they are done by distant relatives. Once the feng shui formation is created based on the same family members, preferably between 2 heterosexual members, a pauper can become a prince overnight.

You can even determine the gender of the baby for a couple.

Anyway, in this posting, I am going to share a case or in fact a technique in this system on how to turn the feng shui around. Just to give you a flavor.

The main door of this house is facing a T-junction – a very well-known sha qi or killing force. Most practitioners will instantaneously tell you to move house otherwise the occupants inside will suffer mishaps in time to come.

This house sits on hexagram Tong Ren hexagram which is expressed as Qian over Li trigram. The Xuan Kong 5 Elements for this hexagram is 9 and the Xuan Kong Period number is 7. Please see picture. In terms of 24 mountains, it sits on Mao and faces You (坐卯向酉).

If you would have based your calculation on Da Gua, you can safely assure the occupants that nothing is wrong with this T-junction.

Why? The secret is in the hexagram that the house is sitting on. The sha qi (junction) is coming from Dui Trigram and in relation with the sitting hexagram, it is known as Out of Gua. This means that any other form of sha qi like pylon has no effect on this house as long as it comes from Dui (or Kun or Zhen).

How do we apply this to save people's life? For instance, if this house is sitting on another hexagram and the T-junction is now a real hazard, we can tilt the main door by a few degrees to change the hexagram of the house and make the sha qi "out of gua".

Word of caution: If you do not do it properly, you can accidentally void your prosperous energy that you have been receiving from a nearby water or mountain.

Too much Wealth drains the Health 财多身子弱

What happens when one's bazi is overwhelmed by wealth stars? Does he become super rich?

Not really. He can actually be quite poor.

In bazi classic, there is a famous mantra that says that "Too many wealth stars will make you weak." Do not take this literally. It does not refer to your physical health.

Wealth element in the study of bazi, or Chinese destiny calculation, is what the Day Master controls in accordance to the 5 Elements Theory.

If a guy has too many of such elements in his bazi, like in this case, he will find it very difficult to control and make good use of them. In real life situation, it means that this person is not prudent in managing his finances and likely to spend more than what he is capable of earning.

Does he have bad health? No. In fact, he has good physique and is a sporty person who has very good stamina. I hardly hear him complain of any sickness.

The issue with such wealth-abundant bazi is that the person likes to go for quick buck and takes short cut especially through betting. For men, it is interesting to know that they are hen-pecked too.

Does that mean that you will perpetually remain poor for the rest of your life? Well, it very much depends on whether you will go through a luck cycle that lends you the strength to harness all the wealth. The Yong Shen or useful star in his case will be Friend or Rob Wealth in the form of earth element. In Chinese we usually say "using friend stars to share the wealth" (用比劫来分财). Therefore, he should enter into a partnership if he ever decides to do business not just because he is "weak" but he needs another person to help him pause and think – something he is lacking.

Wealth star in bazi also represents girlfriend or wife. A common question that I get is that do many wealth stars imply many wives? While we cannot simply equate the number of wealth stars to the actual number of wives he will have, we can safely say that for such bazi, there will be more than one woman in his life. He will also go through one divorce due to a 3^rd party's intervention – but from the wife's side and it was a secret love affair. How do I know? There are hidden combinations taking place between the spouse palace and its adjacent palaces. This is a very strong tell-tale sign. This client of mine later admitted it.

Feng Shui and Main Door

Sally (not her real name) is a housewife who is in her 40's. She is married and has 2 children who are in their teenage. Her husband runs a small IT business and works hard to provide for the family. They stay in a HDB flat which they have bought more than 15 years ago and live by everyday just like any other family.

Nobody would expect Sally has gone through so much in her life – especially after she has moved into this house on the 8^th floor. Shouldn't 8 bring her good tidings and money luck since 8 sounded like "fa" which means prosper in Chinese? No, life has taken a toll on her. A series of event had happened not only on her but her loved ones. She told me she almost killed herself. I can never imagine she used to be a bubbly person when I met her.

She contacted me via email last month and wanted very much to meet up for a bazi consult. One week later, we met at a cafeteria to discuss about how to help her in this current luck cycle to achieve her goals. She does not have ambitious goals. A healthy family is what she would be grateful for.

During the 2-hour consultation, the topics revolved mainly around her husband. From her husband's bazi, I told her that he is very blessed to have a wife who is caring, supportive and will standby him till death do them apart. She smiled coyly. Yes, she stood by him during his most difficult moment when he was found to have colon cancer. 5 years ago, he actually had part of his colon and stomach removed. His condition is in remission now.

Her main worry is whether the problem will come back again as she knows very well that the husband is not able to suffer another blow again. She also shared with me that on the 3^rd year after they moved into this house, her mother-in-law had removed her womb because of ovarian cancer. In the following year, she was implicated in a corruption case and was interrogated by the officers from the commercial affair department because of some wrongdoings by her ex-boss. This was revealed in her bazi because for that year her authority star was clashing with the output star that was in the annual luck pillar. There is a saying in the Chinese classic, "when output star encounters authority star, troubles and mishaps will manifest."

Although she did not end up in jail and was later found to be innocent, the ordeal that she had gone through was enough to destroy her life. Fortunately, she is a strong lady. You can tell from her bazi that she is resilient because her Yong Shen (useful star) is borne in season. This means that she has that vitality to overcome all odds and never succumb herself to dark forces. If she does not have that fighting spirit, she would not have recovered from a stroke during her confinement period after she delivered her second child.

After hearing so much from her, I was very curious to investigate on her house feng shui. It definitely has a big role in it based on what I gather. Sally was also very happy to know that I am willing to make a trip to her place as she is desperate to find out what is so wrong in her home.

To know if a house has good fengshui, I usually focus on 3 things, namely, the main door, the bedroom and the stove. If the qi or energy present at these 3 areas is good, the house fengshui is good. The main door ranks first in terms of importance and I would liken it to our mouth. If the energy that flows in through the door is good, you will have a healthy and wealthy home. However, if the main door draws in harmful qi, it is akin to eating the wrong stuff and either you keep having food poisoning or toxics will build up until it explodes when there is a trigger. In this context, the trigger here is the arrival of a specific body of qi on a specific year. As an astrologer, we call it the star.

When I took out my luo pan to measure the direction of the main door and calculate the entire energy distribution of the house, I immediately told Sally that the occupants in the house will also likely to suffer from respiratory problem, apart from colon. She was surprised that feng shui can pinpoint the type of illnesses that the people staying inside are susceptible to. Indeed her daughter is having sinusitis since small.

The main door and the fengshui structure of the house expose Sally and her family to malevolent energy permanently. The problem will be exacerbated when certain stars arrive at their main door on certain years. Unless they are able to relocate or tilt the main door position, it is unlikely they can completely turn the situation around. Fine-tuning of internal energy flow by re-positioning of beds and stove can mitigate the severity of the issue but it can never eradicate the root cause. I told her I will implement some solutions to basically enhance her husband's business and the studies of her children after I calculate a good timing that connects with the house energy and the occupants. Meanwhile, I urge her to quickly look for a new house with positive fengshui structure with my help. With a main door that takes in good qi, even when the most fearful 5 Yellow star clashes into it, you will still find yourself enjoying good fortune for that year.

Sally told me she finally sees light at the end of the tunnel. I start to see her going back to her bubbly nature again.

Decoding the Secret of Xie Zi Fa

The verse is extracted from late GM Zeng Zi Nan's book. It was first mentioned by GM Yang Yun Song.

In English, it says, "When Xie Zi changes, Yin is not Yin, Yang is not Yang; Yin can be regarded as Yang, Yang can be regarded as Yin. Mountain is not mountain, water is not water. Mountain can be regarded as water and water can be regarded as mountain. Xie Zi is formless and yet it does take certain form and vice versa."

The secret of Xie Zi Fa is encrypted in this few sentences. My own interpretation is that, if you relate it to the transformation of Hexagrams, it kinda make sense. Gua can be represented by a myriad of things on earth. You can feel and touch those things represented by the gua and yet gua is very abstract and elusive because it is like trying to catch hold of time. You can never grab it and yet its presence does have an impact on you.

For the last part which talks about mountain can be water and vice versa, I believe this is the formula mentioned in Tian Yu Jing or Heaven Jade Classic. If what I think is indeed true, I would consider myself very blessed to have learned some of the concepts from my teacher because late GM Zeng and his descendants used this as part of their Xie Zi Fa's implementation.
This formula says that "Qian Mountain, Qian Facing, Water flows Qian. Qian Peak gives birth to Scholars." This is only one of the sittings. There are also Kun Mountain, Kun Facing, Wu Mountain Wu Facing, just to name a few.

Think about it, how can you have a house or burial site sitting Qian (north west), facing Qian with water flowing Qian?

10-God in Flying Stars

I have mentioned before that flying stars can be read like bazi. Let me show you how to do it.

This is a real life case. The owner is Gua 7 staying in a high rise apartment sitting south and facing north. The flying stars chart is as shown above.

As he is a Gua 7, we zoom into Dui Palace to look at his "bazi".

Inside this palace, the sitting star 4 (reference point) represents him. He is a weak "DM" because he is not born in season as Dui is autumn. So, it will be good if stars like 1,3 and 4 were to fly into this palace as that will strengthen him.

Among these 3 stars which star do you think is the "useful god"? That will be star 1 (water) because it arbitrates between the metal palace and star 4. Whenever he sees his useful god, he will get rich.

So, this year, star 1 flies to Dui Palace which resulted the Gua 7 to experience an increase in his income of about at least 2-fold.

But does that mean he will always have to wait for every 9 years to get rich? No, the technique here is to locate him in a room with a door that he can use to tap into star 1 everyday.

The only thing he has to be careful is when earth stars especially star 5 or 2 arrives at this palace because that will attack his useful god and he will lose alot of money especially on health. That had already happened. In terms of bazi interpretation, because the sitting wood star is weak, it cannot control the wealth. All the earth stars are wealth star to him whereas star 1 is his resource star where he will meet alot of Noble and Helpful people.

True indeed, he actually met alot of helpful people this year that bring him alot of business opportunities.

The amazing thing is that, when you corroborate this flying stars method of reading with his actual bazi reading, the events match.

So, do you still need to diagnose the bazi first before you do fengshui?

What keeps me so interested in bazi is not just entirely on the predicting part but it is about learning some of the nuances.

Personality analysis based on bazi (not DISC or MBTI) is one of my favourite subjects. But you need to really have an intimate knowledge of the 10 Gods followed by frequent corroboration between the bazi and the person to know some of the subtle differences among the stars – particularly the behavioral part.

If your boss is born with a negative output structure, and you did not meet her expectation, she will blatantly tell you into your face "Did you not use your brain?"

However, if hers is a positive structure, then she will tactfully tell you "I think you could have done better if you have factored in this or that. Kindly review your work and see me again tomorrow. Thanks."

Say you make a grave mistake and your boss decided to fire you. If he is a 7 Killing structure, you will hear him yelling at you "You have made a very big mistake and I need you to get lost within 24 hours."

If he is a direct officer structure, he will say "Under section 2 paragraph 1 of the employment agreement, we would need to terminate your service with us as you have caused the company to suffer losses as a result of negligence which is defined as ….."

Next, do you want to learn from a teacher who is using hurting officer or direct input? Frankly, it depends on your personal preference.

H.O. teacher will tell you "I will teach you how to fish and not fish for you. Now, buy my book on how to fish."

D.I. teacher will elaborate on the various methods to fish, the benefits and go the extra mile to cook the fish for you."

Imagine you plan to go to a posh restaurant with someone you are dating. Would you choose to go with a guy with positive wealth star or negative one?

The former will happily foot the bill and tell you dinner is on him while the latter will tell you this time round is on him FIRST!

For the same scenario but at a buffet, a positive friend star guy will be happy if his partner had enough for her dinner while a negative friend star guy will be happy if his partner can also help him hide some food in her handbag for supper later.

Officer or Ghost? 官鬼?

In bazi, the Direct Officer or Indirect Officer (7 Killing) is a double-headed snake.

When it is positive, it is known as Guan (government official) but when it turns bad, it is known as Gui (Ghost). The Ghost does not mean spirit but it implies petty people who have agenda or people who are plotting against you.

It is not true that when you are a strong Daymaster, the positive stars are naturally Wealth, Officer and Output. This is over simplistic.

On the flip side, when you are a weak Daymaster, it does not mean you cannot use Officer star or such star is definitely negative.

Officer star is the only star among the 10 Gods that has this dual characteristic that can alternate and portray good and bad attributes at different points in time or luck cycle. That is the reason why some wholesome public figures made some silly mistakes and have to end up in jail for misappropriating company's fund. Or some highly respected politicians got into trouble because of molestation.

As a bazi consultant, you need to know when the Direct Officer or 7 Killing star will turn good when it is originally bad in the natal chart and when it will turn bad when it is originally good in the bazi. By knowing just this, you will be able to help your client to predict and avoid major issues and advise him on the best timing to ride on the wave of success.

So, what actually determines when the Officer will become Dr Jekyll or Mr Hyde? The crux and the "million-dollar" secret formula is in the position of the "child star of the Officer star".

The Art of Extrapolation 移宫换星秘法

People ask me why I like to reveal "secrets" which some people pay thousands of dollars to get. Why am I making it so readily available? I think it could be in my bazi. If I or my counterparts do not share, then I think the knowledge of feng shui and bazi may just die in our generation. And I am talking about authentic stuff that my masters have generously shared with his students. Well, I could have kept all these secrets and make alot of money for myself (which I must admit I do wish to have a better quality of life for my family) but sometimes, money-making is not everything. I think each of us has a purpose in life. I have my mission (使命) too.

During a recent advance bazi sharing session for practitioners in USA, I did not manage to go through this case due to a little poor planning from me - I covered too many advance topics and ended up there was not enough time to go through this special technique. Ya, I guess I was too excited in trying to download as many things as possible to the particpants. Bad habit.

I coined the term as Bazi Extrapolation. Simply put, for instance, you are able to read your mother-in-law's bazi from your own. Sometimes, you can read your neighbour's bazi from yours too (within 1 minute). You probably already know this technique through the 10-God application. There are a few ways to do it and I will just briefly touch on a couple of the techniques that I frequently use.

The chart belongs to a male that has a mistress. The question asked is "Is the mistress pretty?"

There are 2 Yi woods up there. You take 2nd Yi wood as the mistress. She is sitting on peach blossom star. So, we deduce that the mistress is pretty.

The next question asked is "Do you think the son is influenced by the father and he might also have more than one wife?"

The DM is now "moved" to Month Stem. Yi Wood is the father. The focal point of whole bazi changes. The father is a weak DM born in dragon year. Peach blossom star is at hour branch. We call this PB outside the wall. Very appealing to opposite sex. There are also 2 direct wealth stars at the branches. Based on this, we can infer that he has more than one woman.

When will the father be rich? It is when his son (original chart) goes through water and wood luck pillars.

Alot more questions can be asked but you got to be specific in your questions.

Feng Shui and Bazi can be Independent

No doubt Feng Shui and Bazi are very intimate cousins, but I seriously think that one does not need to read the bazi to diagnose the issue first and then prescribe Feng Shui solution to address the problem.

In fact, you can SKIP the bazi part (unless client would also like you to read his or her bazi as part of the value-added service) and directly use Feng Shui to diagnose the event in the house.

Whatever problems surfaced in your house fengshui will also be indicated in your bazi. For example, if the bazi of the person reveals that he will suffer from cancer on that year, the fengshui of the house will also say the same thing. And vice versa.

This is the amazing thing about Xuan Xue (玄学). Every thing is connected. Face reading will also tell you the same thing.

On a side note, Flying Stars chart in your house can be read like a bazi when you incorporate the concept of 10 Gods in the stars. One of the older famous HK masters is quite skillful in this.

Bazi is a diagnosis but at the same time, it can also serve as a presciption.

What you may have heard may be just an opinion, a personal belief. A belief however does not necessarily be a fact.

The "endangered art" of San Yuan Qi Men Dun Jia wow-ed the students during a midnight burial process. With precise calculation, you would expect to see phenomenon occuring when the coffin was lowered and tombstone erected.

Such phenomenon would have been told to all observers days before the burial. At that precise moment, everything came true - crickets start to suddenly make a lot of noise in the very silent nite while thunder suddenly roared in the clear starry sky before everything went back to normal. This also implies everything is carried out in perfect order.

I was listening to Class 95 radio station and the DJ was mentioning that a recent research has reported that it is better for ladies to go out with guys who are poorer because those who are richer always have issues with loyalty or fidelity.

From bazi point of view I do agree in a way.

When it comes to the bazi for man, wealth element represents his wife, girlfriend, father and literally his wealth.

Logically speaking from the mathematics of bazi, when his wealth increases, his number of woman will also increase. In ancient time, having a few wives was the social norm. In fact, it was a status thing. Only those wealthy ones can afford being polygamous. Hence, this was part of the thinking then behind the development of bazi. And I do, up to some extent, agree with the statement "All men are polygamous by nature." But, because of the law and societal pressure, we 'mankind' then become less adventurous. Nevertheless, sad to say, this does not prevent men to continue to stray.

It is very common to hear people saying once man has money, he will start to fling. If you know bazi, you probably cannot blame him too much. This is the DNA made-up of man - unless your man is able to "control the presence of strong wealth" from the bazi perspective per se.

I am not saying all men have money will fling. But there is a tendency. Whether he will act depends on his moral values and self discipline. You got to check his Resource and Officer star and perhaps the presence of other stars in his bazi. If you are into Shen Sha, then see if he has external Peach Blossom or Salt Pool. Most of the time, the person has relatively strong Indirect Wealth.

Sometimes, it could be just a passing stage when he goes through the wealth luck period. That is when that Mr Nice Guy husband of yours who has been so loyal to you and children for the past 10 years suddenly get caught holding hands with his young and demure secretary.

Anyway, unless you know how to read your boy friend's bazi, you just got to take the risk.....

When it comes, it comes..... it does not matter how sexy and good looking you are..... agree?

If you think the wealth element is the only thing to judge in one's bazi on the level of affluence, then I am sorry to disappoint you (maybe good news to some).

Whether you will become successful in life and amass great wealth (multi millionaires level) primarily depends on your Useful God or Yong Shen - the most vital element in your bazi. Everybody's bazi will contain this very important element but it is a matter of how his or hers useful god is positioned in the bazi.

In the study of bazi, one of the most difficult concepts is to identify the useful god in the bazi. If you are able to catch it and identify it, you can accurately predict your client's life, when he or she will make it or break it. When your useful god is clashed or combined away, then it is the time you say goodbye.

Some coffee shop talk here. Jack Neo's affair with the 22-year-old model-actress is recently exposed and is the hottest topic in town now. In fact, another actress has also stepped out to tell the media about how our Mr Good Guy, Jack Neo, has tried to bed her albeit not successful.

Hmmm, very juciy indeed. Are there more ladies coming out to be upfront about it just like Mr Tiger Wood's case? Jack Neo's next movie can consider the title "Sex no Enough".

Our dear Director Neo is a Xin Hai daymaster. This year is Geng Yin. Based on the interaction of this 2 pillars, lets see what potentially could be sparked off from here.

Jack is born in 24 Jan 1960 (I do not have his birth hour) and it appears to me he is a weak chart. Anyway, lets use this bazi divination method using the 2 pillars to help us do a quick crystal-ball into his messy love life.

There is a Yin-Hai combination at the earthly branches. Yin is wealth element and Hai is his output element. Yin is combining into his day branch - usually indicating a partnership or another 3rd party who intrudes his spouse palace. Nevertheless, Yin and Hai are also having a destructive relationship which usually implies separation or face-off situation as a result of issues with women and money (wealth element). Although Jack's wife has appeared to be forgiving for his husband misconduct, but I can say that behind the scene, the crack in the marriage is widening.

Jack is definitely going to be very stressed up in the Tiger year because Yin and Hai are also known as the Stables - which governs the stability of a person's thinking and emotion. Yin and Hai are trying to transform into wood, a negative wealth element. Weak self sees wealth means losing money too. So, Jack better be prepared that companies will start to drop him as endorsement for their products.

From Xuan Kong's point of view, Jack's life palace is Kun gua and this year star 5 lands there. One can safely say that Gua 2 person will be met with challenges and the flying stars combination in his house chart will give you the reading.

This is how a typical workshop unit looks like. There is a mezzanine floor for the office. The crux lies in what type of energy the door is receiving. For this case, the door is located in the prosperous sector. But this type of staircase connecting directly to the door is generally not so good as the Qi is seen rushing down. The formation is known as Pulling Nose Water. One way is to have an extended landing outside the door but in this case it is not possible as the authority will not allow. So, I will have to turn this to my client's advantage. YES, making a lousy qi to work for my client to generate money.

Hypocrite 笑面虎

Have you ever had bosses or colleagues that always smile and seem so friendly to you all the time and suddenly they backstab you?

Have you ever been "scolded" by your boss and yet you do not feel that she is scolding you at that moment? You probably thank her after that for being so patient with you.

Have you at times felt that your boss is blatantly sarcastic to you but because she cleverly masked it with her smilely face and friendly tone, you actually laughed along with her and later walked out feeling quite good?

She maintains high EQ in the public but once you are alone in her cubicle for some silly mistakes that you have made, she becomes the "Devil who wears Prada" and starts rattling at you.

So, which daymaster has this special attributes? Let me tell you based on my personal experience, it is a Jia Wood lady with a 7 Killing star in the bazi.

If the 7K star is positive, she will scold you smilingly.

If the 7K star is negative, you will see her fork tongue lashes at you and be prepared to be pyschologically bruised.

But I must say Jia wood ladies with 7 K or Direct Officer are usually very smart.

In my next posting, I will talk about which stars in the bazi will enable a person to talk very well.

Sembawang Shopping Centre

I brought my family yesterday to the relatively new Sembawang Shopping Centre (SSC). Before the building was revamped in 2007, it was an old shopping centre that was probably near its obsolescene. It re-opened in 22 December 2008 and had gotten a whole new face-lift and reasonably good tenants-mix.

It was a Saturday night during dinner time and I expected the place to be filled with shoppers or diners since it was also the 7th day of Chinese New Year where families would normally find a good eating place and get together. Nevertheless, to my surprise, most of the shops, including the food courts and restaurants were pretty empty. I actually asked one of the retailers and he told me this is usually the case although sometimes on certain days the crowd "would be slightly better".

Before I left for home, I did some checks on the main entrance, environment, the contour and also traffic flow. The SSC is facing a road and backed by hill with landed houses. On the right hand side of the building, there is an open land while on the left, there is a small road sloping down from the hill and merged with the main road (water mouth). Slightly further to the left are shophouses and residences. Please see picture.

I did not bring my Luo Pan so I could not measure the water exits. But based on mere observation of the landform (which is one of the divinative techniques), you can instantaneously tell that the yin and yang of this building is off balance. Yes, the white tiger and green dragon's fundamentals have been violated. Overly yang white tiger in this case represents power issue with women in the management team there. On the other hand, the dragon side is too cluttered and yin.

I also observed that the land is sloping away from the main entrance towards the main road. This is known as the Out-going water. Good or bad depends on the Xue (穴).

I am going to bring my Luo Pan there on another day to measure the Xue and the Double Mountains. I think the water flow is causing a leakage in the wealth.

Any solution to make the building a prosperous one? Yes but it involves structural change to the building like opening of another entrance.

Spiral Feng Shui

Have you been hearing about Spiral qi lately? If you have not, then I must say that it is not surprising because firstly, you may not be in the inner circle of the juicy and political fengshui industry (thank god). Secondly, this concept is not commonly mentioned in details by any masters out there. In fact, I do not think most of the practitioners (especially feng shui ornament salesmen) out there know about this not-so-easily-accessible piece of information.

Ok, I am not trying to claim to be an expert in this field but I happened to read about it and I know something about it and I just hope to satisfy the curiosity of the loads of fengshui enthusiasts by sharing what I know.

Any city that has such spiral formation is definitely blessed with good feng shui. Surprisingly, some of the ancient European cities were found having such spiral patterns. I wonder if the urban planners had gone to Luo Yang to understudy from the feng shui masters at that point in time...

Anyway, for a city that has the spiral pattern formation would reap the benefit from the accummulation of qi at its epic centre (Ming Tang) which then radiates out to the corners and borders of the city.

The Book on Xie Zi Fa

This is the book that talks about Xie Zi Fa. To manage your expectation, it does not reveal the actual technique. The secret is only passed down to his son.

The last few pages mentioned a Da Gua technique used for house divination which I think is very interesting. I will share in my future posting if I have the time (currently quite busy with fengshui audits).

Zeng Zi Nan's publications are not found in Singapore and I actually bought from Taiwan at quite a steep price. I think the publisher might have stopped their prints. When I received it, the pages were slightly yellowish.

Feng Shui at the Pinnacle@Duxton

The Perspective View of Pinnacle.

I just came back from the Singapore's most talk-about public housing estate at Tanjong Pagar. I was there for a fengshui consult to advise on the internal fengshui arrangement on the flat. Some feng shui masters (not Master of Feng Shui) mentioned that the arrangement of the blocks make Pinnacle looks like the shape of a curve blade or agricultural sickle from an aerial view. From the perspective view,it looks like chinese bamboo books tied together by thread. So, the Pinnacle is supposed to encourage continual learning and great harvest. Sounds good. But is it so simple?

If assessment of feng shui is solely based on imagery and good imagination and without any justifications that derived from fundamentals (eg, ying and yang, landforms), then I am quite worried it may be built on sandy ground.

Anyway, thanks to my client, I have the priviledge of touring the sky gardens where public has to pay $5 to access it. Managed to snap some nice pictures too.

I always thought my memory sucks and it would be an uphill task to ask me even memorise shopping list.

My recent meeting with him has changed my limiting belief. In fact, he taught me all the techniques to improve my memory by quantum leap. I tried and it was boomz!

He memorized

- a 1944 digit number.
- a 1200 digit binary number.
- the sequence of 7 decks of shuffled playing cards (364 cards)
- the sequence of 1 deck of playing cards in 1 min 50 seconds

He was also awarded the Grandmaster title from the World Memory Championship at the age of 26.

I was so tempted to ask for his birthday as I firmly believe bazi plays a part in having an elephant memory.

Anyway, based on my own research and analyses of my clients' bazi, I realise people having Wood Day Master have better memory power. Why?

Memorising is about taking in and processing information follows by the ability to recall specific information when required.

The quality of Resource star in one's bazi determines that. For Wood daymaster, the resource star is represented by water element and water represents wisdom. I think plants or trees do suck up water quite fast right?

According to my observation and years of interaction with these people, they really possess good memory. Their ability can be manifested as young as 1-year old. Trust me. But the catch here is that the water element should be positive in the chart. If the water becomes too much, then it will lead to confusion and lack of clarity in thinking.

Is it possible to improve a couple's sex life through feng shui?

Based on personal experience, ahem, it is do-able. For certain months, I am not sure if you realise that you actually make love more with your wife or husband than the normal days. As a matter of fact, I actually keep track and validate with my house feng shui.

This is due to the certain energy that comes to your room for that month. The trick here is how to retain or enhance this lovey-turvy mood. I believe that sex is the foundation of a blissful marriage. What we want here is not really to just help you up your performance and thus make you no difference from a rabbit, instead, we want to help you to create or cultivate the romantic qi or energy in your room so that you will have quality sex and not just go for a rush job and finish in 10 minutes and then all go to sleep.

I would also apply this feng shui technique to help a couple to cut down on their bickers and start to play with each other more...on the bed. Quality sex is definitely good for physical and mental health. It not only brings the couple closer but also make you a happier and better person.

Will I marry a foreigner?

I just want to share a finding based on what I have gathered from my bazi consults.

You know, some of my lady clients like to find out if they will marry a Caucasian or in Chinese we call "嫁鬼佬". Well, in bazi there is an indication to tell if someone will have the affinity to marry a foreigner but not necessary a Caucasian. Even a Singaporean marrying a Malaysian is also considered marrying to a foreigner. Afterall, they are both from different countries even though the couple could be Chinese.

Inter-racial marriage also falls within the same realm.

There is a day master that is very "susceptible" to marrying a husband who is someone of a different cultural background. This day master is Bing-Yin. I must qualify that this is not a conclusive finding but somehow all the Bing-Yin ladies that I have come across all have same encounters. You can check it out.

Another question frequently popped to me is that, "Will my husband be younger than me?"

Again, if you are a Bing DM, you are more likely to have a partner younger than you. What is the rationale?

I have an explanation for this but it is up to you to buy it. You see, Bing is the sun. Officer star of Bing is supposed to be droplets of water in imagery bazi. Therefore, the hubby of Bing lady is "smaller" than her. Do you get it?

NB: What I mention above is a quickie method to bazi prediction. Technically speaking, there are orthodox ways to determine whether you will marry foreigner. Clue? I can only say that the culprit is the travelling horse. :)

2010 - Another 2008?

The top chart is the bazi for 2008, calculated based on the Coming of Spring or Li Chun. The bottom chart is the bazi for 2010.

When did the economic crsis strike in 2008? Around Q3 if I am not wrong. If you look at the bazi, you will see a Fu Yin between Day and Hour pillar. Some people call it Hidden Siren.

Jia wood is the negative element in this chart. It is also known as the friend or rob wealth stars. So prosperous in the chart. And as the name suggests, didn't they rob everyone's wealth suddenly?

There is no fire as the arbitrator, hence resulting in a lot of greed - want quick bucks without thinking properly.

Now, look at this Metal Tiger chart. Do you see any similarities? Observe the Fan Yin (aka Inverse Siren) on Q3 again. There is also a "betrayal clash" at the bottom.

Look kinda demoralising ya? Dun worry. Just take precaution and be more discerning. Prevention is better than cure.

Mundane (Astrology)

For the past few days have been quite mundane indeed. Did not really enjoy the Xmas with my family. Day-in- day-out has been doing the same thing - playing and looking after my sons who suffered a bit of bad tummy. I have told my wife about this last month and I fulfilled my own prophecy - which I did not want it. My sons sleep in a room with the door having the dynamic stars combo of 1, 5 this month.

Knowing this, the only cure is to take preventive measure. But how do you remind 2 mischievious and playful toddlers not to put things in their mouth or constantly apply sanitiser on their hands? Maybe tie them up? Fortunately, knowing that this may happen, me and my wife tried to clear our work and prepare ourselves for any virus attack. We took stock of our kitchen cupboard to make sure there are enough wet tissues, soy milk powder, nappies, stomache ointment, Pedialyte (in case they run into dehydration) and etc. We also make sure that we bring them to PD asap (don't even dare to think of self-medication) because we know the power of such virus. Thankfully, they recovered fast but it has definitely taken a toll on all of us. If you think your life is not challenging enough, my advice is try babysitting a kid. *Heave*

While the whole episode has tormented me emotionally, mentally and physically (it was heart-wrenching to see them suffer), I still tried to keep my sanity by responding to my clients' questions on their bazi and office feng shui via emails. I also receive 3 new feng shui cases over last few days - mostly on designing the fengshui for their new house.

What excited me most is my current collaboration with a peer who has been using western astrology to predict the performance of certain stocks. I am a novice in western astrology and hence, when everyone is asleep during this holiday season, I stayed up to midnight to mug a big book on the topic. I am using bazi to corroborate my findings with his western astrology calculation. We are checking on alot of stocks and to drill down to how each stock performs on a daily basis. This is really really very very exciting for me.

Secret Formula to Feng Shui Success

I cannot believe I have found the secret formula. I think I have wasted my many years of learning and practising feng shui.

I was at a mega mart this morning and chanced upon this book. I think I must be blessed. Wow, it must be the best day of the year - maybe my main door has all the white stars at that hour -that actually triggered me to flip to this topic about remedy on missing corners.

It says that if your wealth or love corner in your house is missing, you simply install a mirror there to reflect and "extend" the space so that the void is "filled up".

It also highlighted that this is the feng shui secret that not many people know.

Now, I have a problem. I am staying at 14th floor of an apartment with my wealth corner of Period 8 missing. I guess I have no choice but to hack down the wall and install a mirror.

Not sure if the authority will approve my plan. Not sure if in the market they do sell huge wall-size mirror. Damn, the author did not say if I should turn my mirror towards the outside or towards the interior of the house.

This must be the secret that I need to pay for I guess....sigh.

Blink - that guided intuition

Got a request to select a flat yesterday. Usually, before I step out of my house for such assignmet, I will open up the bazi chart of that day, at that moment to cast a divination. Well, the star in the palace representing the house was not positive. In addition, there was a punishment. Blink.

When come to house selection, I am always more kiasi (Singapore lingo) or cautious. Anything that compromises on the heath aspect is a no-no. My client is already predisposed to certain health condition relating to woman. So, I must ensure that the house does not aggravate her condition. Instead, the energy should heal her.

When the elevator door opened, a lady greeted us. She was limping. Yes, she just injured her ankle and was bandaged. Hmm, not so good sign. Blink. [If you look at the flying stars chart, you will know why she injured her ankle. The Tai Sui has triggered the 8 4. Come next year, the son would suffer.]

I took out the luo pan, checked the sitting and immediately plot out the chart. It is a Period 6, South (Bing) facing house. See the layout here. Main door combo is a no-no. My client and her family, the outgoing tenant and property agent were eager to know the answer. The agent seemed to be praying for a YES.

Few people know that I also use San He at times for my audit. So, I checked again on the Na Yin of the house. Bloody hell, the needle pointed to a big Kong Mang in the 72 dragons. Need not say more.

The whole process took me 15 minutes the most. We then wrapped up everything and adjourned to the nearby coffee shop for the famous duck rice stall...

Ding Tai Feng

Ding Tai Feng is the name for a famous local chinese restaurant chain. I quite like the fried rice and especially the delicious 小笼汤包. It is their chef-recommended dish. There is always a queue infront of entrance and it sometimes take you more than 20 minutes to be seated. The prices are not that cheap because the restaurants are located in prime shopping malls but still, it is a resonably good place for families who want to gather for dinner.

I am not sure if many people know about the derivation of the name of the restaurant. If I am not wrong, this brand name was borrowed from a famous restaurant in Taiwan which is named after 3 hexagrams viz, Ding, Tai and Feng.

But why these 3? Reason is simply because they are arguably the more auspicious hexagrams among the 64 hexagrams family.

Their full name, for your info, is as follow:

Ding : 火風鼎

Tai : 天地泰

Feng : 雷火丰

Nothing got to do with Name Analysis. This is one of the many examples that I-Ching or Yi Jing has influenced and infiltrated our daily life. Alot of chinese words or phrases that we use today are actually borrowed from Yi Jing.

For instance, we say that someone is 八卦 (ba gua) if he or she is busybody; or something has 变卦 (transformed gua) when a plan has changed.
