New Classical

"New Classical" is an oxymoron.

The term "Classical" connotes standard, authoritative, ancient, well-established versus new or experimental.

For example, if you talk about classical feng shui, you refer to well-known system like San He or San Yuan which had been rigorously R&D-ed, tried and tested, weathered the test of time and been used by many renowned masters.

Yi Jing is a philosophy and it is a classic. Feng Shui is also a classic.

But when you merge the 2 together, it becomes Yi Jing Feng Shui. A term that I have not heard of. Maybe it is due to my ignorance. It could be referring to Da Gua Feng Shui.

It is something that has never been taught in the market, says the source.

I presume this is an reinvention, if not where would the inventor have learnt it from since it has never been taught before.

If you have invented it recently, then it is not classical, that's my view. Therefore, it will be appropriate to have a statement saying that this method is not classical even though the teacher is classical feng shui practitioner.

But I would be interested to understand more about this new classical system. I may find my answers there.

To Anonymous

Thanks to some of you who have given me comments from the bottom of your heart, never mind it is criticism because it can serve as a wake up call at times.

I have just received a very strong comment from a very upset Anonymous, saying that I am glorifying myself, condemning other masters from HK to Singapore, am having false modesty, only know how to hide behind the blog and I am a Nowhere Man.

I thank him/her on the comment because it gives me the opportunity to clarify my position. It took me a while to decide if I should reply but since Anonymous took the effort to read my blog and take the time to give me the feedback, as a form of coutersy, I should respond.

If my modesty is false, then I would not be so open and blatant about my views on feng shui. I might as well curry favour every master. I just want to speak my mind through this small little cyber space that I have. This is a blog afterall.

I do not criticise people for no reason. It is either through personal experiences or feedbacks gathered from friends and clients that I decide to put my comments down factually as a form of awareness. Sorry if I have stepped on your master. But real gold is not afraid of fire. So, if they are solid, then fret not.

Anonymous told me to step out and not hide behind the blog. Be s TRUE Hero like Master Benson Yeo, do his work and not criticise. Firstly, I have nothing against Benson Yeo. In fact, I dun even see myself as a master like Benson Yeo. He is probably an established master in the industry whereas I am just a low profile practitioner who prefers to do my research and help my clients. By the way, Anonymous, are you his student?

As you can see, I do not hide my identity. I show my website and my contacts. At least I do not criticise under "Anonymous" or pseudonym. I take ownership and responsibility in what I said. You can disagree and I will be happy to hear your views - as long as you rationalise it with me.

I agree with Anonymous that I am a Nowhere man. I am not famous and I am still searching for answers.

I just hope any allegations and criticism to be limited to the blog and me as the writer. It is not a gentleman act to involve my son and family members as they are innocent. By the way, I am not sure how my son has offended Anonymous. He is only 20 month old So, please spare him.

Mr/Ms Anonymous, I hope one day you will see things eye to eye with me as I have been through con masters and teachers and their distorted theories.

I welcome you to continue to challenge me or the things I share. This is the way we improve.

But I hope you can do it in your real self.

Make No Sense (Cents)

You may have encountered Feng Shui practitioners who charge, for example, as follow:

3 room HDB flat - $488
4 room HDB flat - $688
5 room HDB flat - $788
Executive Apartment or Mansionette - $988
Executive/Condominium - $1088 or more

It does not make any sense to me when you have such cost structure because, regardless of the room type, the effort in the feng shui audit is the same even though the area varies. Therefore, there should only be one rate in my point of view.

Are you saying that because one stays in a bigger flat or condominium, he or she is more well-off and hence you can cream off more money from he/she?

I believe some practitioners would think so.

1-second to knowing your Marriage

The chinese mantra below applies to lady only.

Just zoom straight into the day pillar of the bazi. If you have one of the following day pillars, then your marriage will have compromises.

金豬豈有郎(辛亥日),
木火蛇無婿(乙巳日),
土猴常獨臥(戊申日),
木虎空居霜(甲寅日),
赤馬黃毒惡(丙午日).

You can email me at destinyasia@hotmail.com for English explanation if you cannot read chinese.

Paradigm Shift

Just want to pen down some of my observations and thoughts, hoping that the lay people out there can be more discerning when they come into contact with feng shui.

It may appear as a rude shock to some of us but I think it is time our paradigm needs to shift.

1. Young master = feng shui skill no good

[Comment: The fact is that some of the young masters are even teachers to older practitioners. Feng Shui skill is not about how much wrinkles and grey hair you have. It is about who you learn from, how much affinity you have with the subject and how fast you pick up.]

2. Feng Shui = placement of crystals, stones and ornaments

[Comment: Feng Shui = how you locate yourself to receive the desired energy. I have not come across any classical literatures that talk about using crystals or objects.]

3. If you are "not strong" you cannot read people's bazi or be fortune-told.

[Comment: What's the definition of strong? I think this is just a myth. If you do it with a good heart, I think you can receive alot of good karma - may it be on a pro-bono basis.

Knowing your destiny is to help you make informed decision. It will help you answer questions like: "Will my new boss or company treat me well if I join them?", "Will my F&B business go bankrupt if I start this year?", "Should I employ this guy as my manager? I need someone that is driven, hardworking and honest."]

4. Feng Shui = spiritual, superstition and common sense

[Comment: Feng Shui is both a science and art. It is based on empirical research and there are mathematical models and principles developed over the years to guide practitioners in their practice. If you believe in TCM, then there is no reason why you should not believe in feng shui since both evolve from similar fundamentals - the 5 elements, yin and yang balance.

Feng Shui and spiritual practice are separate although some people mix them up in their practice. Feng Shui is never about burning talisman, joss sticks or praying to statues, it is about using the energy from the environment to help you achieve what you want.]

5. Seeking Feng Shui advice seems uncool, old fashioned and my friends will mock me.

[Comment: You will have the last laugh. In this line, most of our clients are in fact PMET(Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians), successful businessmen, tycoons, politicians and celebrities. In Hong Kong and Korea, feng shui is a lifestyle thing.]

6. My destiny is fixed. I cannot change it and I have to subscribe to it.

[Comment: True for those who continues to think this way and for those who have not come in touch with feng shui. You can certainly change your destiny. Feng Shui can give you a new lease of life.

But how? You need not go through any ritual, nor do you need to spend a bomb to buy items to enhance your life.

You just need to invest 30 minutes of your time with a responsible consultant, and he or she will point out to you the "what-to-do" and "when-to-do". Follow the plan that it has been charted out for you and soon you will see yourself walking on the Road to Success!]

Live Burial

Famous HK actor-singer, Nicholas Tse, continues to maintain his popular status despite having brushes with the law and negative reports by the paparazzi.

According to the article, Tse's mother has sought help from Feng Shui master to carry out live burial to ensure that his son is always in good luck.

I have heard about this method from my master too.

For those who have never heard about it, I would take this opportunity to share the "secret" technique.

Live burial borrows the concept from normal burial procedure except that the person needs not enter a coffin to be buried.

You just need to get ready the following ingredients:

- your finger nails
- some of your hair
- clothes that you have worn

Then find a good feng shui spot based on the landform, dig a hole, put the finger nails, hair and clothes in, cover up and erect a tombstone on top with your name (red) on it.

Of course you need to select a good date and time to do the live burial.

Very soon, you will discover that good things start to happen on you.

I was told that this method is also used to help people who are suffering from serious illnesses.
